Not original. Alot of flake in the paint job. Actually resembles a carnival ride paint style. Was painted by previous owner, not really my style and will probably repaint at some point.
 
I just finished this 74 . Well almost, ( Is it ever really finished?) I'm waiting for my CNW starter kit. Next year front brake and Landsdound kit. I would like to thank you folks for ideas, tech advice and being part of this great site!

I also just finished giving my 74 a birthday that I've had for 37 years
Been very rewarding ...looking for a new project...This is a great site with a world of mechanical information literally

Just ran accross some old slides and ran them through the scanner. This is my old PR as it was in 1975, and then after my crash at Sears Point in 1977. Green and gold was just one of four different colors I painted it over its lifetime. When I bought it from Dan Gurney in the early '70s, he had painted it dark purple to reduce it's visibility to the police. I immediately re-painted it to yellow, but repainted it several times in different colors after crashes on the track. I eventually settled on yellow, and that's what the current owner has kept it at.

I didn't notice that when I posted the pictures. I did the conversion right after crashing my RD350 race bike at Phoenix raceway. I was racing both the Norton and the Yamaha, and got confused over the foot controls heading into the corner. I ran off the track and crashed the Yamaha. I didn't keep the crossover linkage very long. I eventually got used to switching between left and right shift bikes, and never had that particular problem again.

These two shots show a different configuration with the crossover shaft in a lower location, starting with a Dunstall conversion and makings a few mods.

And now, all these years later, I'm doing just the opposite, converting my Mk3 restomod to right shift:rolleyes:

Unfortunately, no. The docs had to cut it off me after a particularly nasty crash. I was pretty out of it by then, but my wife says that when they asked me if I wanted to save it, I said no. I do still have the other the other three, although one of them also had to be cut off at the hospital.

The first one was pretty basic, essentially a flat track style 2-piece suit with horsehair padding sewn in a diamond pattern, and double leather at knees and other crash points. No such thing as hard plastic inserts back then.

I bought the bike two month ago and did some modifications:
Keyless central control unit, switches and clocks from Motogadget installed.
Lithium battery, 3 phase alternator and open type MOSFET Shindengen type regulator.
Prepared a connection for a Koso lambda probe.
Fitted the Lansdowne dampers and Ikons on the rear.
Removed the kickstart lever - it annoyed me, my feet are to big.

I am planning a twin disks conversation...
This seems to be not so easy, as we have strange regulations here.
 
Welcome Holger. Your English is good. MUCH better than my German!!

Nice bike with good upgrades. Have you updated the starter, cables sprague at all? Might consider those if the kicker is gone...

I find with the Brembo upgrade kit from CNW/Holland Norton Works there isn't really any need for.twin discs.

Edit: Use EBC Double-H sintered pads with the Brembo.

It seems from your post above that your written English is better than that from many English speakers !

Nice bike, and nice mods so far. As Gortniper says, the single Brembo disc from cNw or hNw really is good.

I have a question for you, what handle bars do you have? They look good.
