thanks for sharing all the pics. We've talked about a lot of the mods you made back in the day, but it's really nice to see detailed pictures. I always wondered exactly how you managed that center main bearing, and now I know.
Here's a picture of an old friend I bought new in 1979. She's been all over Europe 2 up (including behind the Iron Curtain when it existed) and has never in 31 years broken down with something that could not be sorted at the roadside. She now leads a more relaxed life and is pictured here next to the river Creuse in central France.
Trivia - this side of the river was in occupied France during the war whilst the opposite bank was in Vichy France.
Here's the JPN I've been working on for 3 months. It's finally back on its own feet again, and I'll try for the first start up tomorrow. The body work will be another month or so till it's finished.
I just joined this board and would like to share this picture of the 66 Norton Atlas that my brother and I took turns riding. I rode it to high school almost everyday. It was a big bike to me back in 1967 when I was 18! I thought it was the fastest bike on the planet! The color is not right on the bike I dont think and my brother traded a speedboat for the bike even up back in 1967. This was the first bike I learned to ride on. All good things come to end and in 1969 I was drafted into the army and my bother soon followed and the 66 Norton Atlas was sold. I dont own a Norton yet, but plan on getting another Norton someday,( 1971 Norton Hi Ryder) I have a 67 442 that is keeping me from going after the dream at the moment.
Very cool! I Really like the color and look of your bike! I bet your bike turns a lot of heads, Thanks for posting. You live in Flint and I live in Jackson.
Hopefully here's a picture of my 74 MKIIA, its had all new seals, new pistons, rings, valves, guides, tri spark, carbs, Devon s/s rims, its all pretty much bog standard, but then if it aint broke.......
The last bike (a Commando) I rode was back in 82, & I can tell you this is a real buzz. like a lot of you guys I get as much fun working on it as riding it (almost!)
