Very nice Bob, what tyres do you have on that?

They look like Avon Road Riders to me, I have them on my MK111 they are superb, bike handles fantastic and very stable.

Cheers, Johnny Mc

the real deal....

I shot this with my phone this afternoon... sorry, I'm to f-ing cheap ass to get a good camera!
view is from about 1800 ft above the town of Hilo (if you can imagine, Hilo is the blur above the end of the road), on wainuenue ave... hard to beleive we call this narrow, steep, and bumpy road an avenue, but it starts as 4 lanes at sea level in town and quickly turns into an unkempt twisty. not much traffic, but hold on tight!

On the way down I got drenched by some real cold rain, good thing we make some great ales here.

cheers,

Don

I have never considered myself much of a photographer but after playing with my daughters Nikon for a bit I came up with this shot. I though it was pretty cool.

Jim what's the line comming off of the drive side of your crank case by the cam? Cj

That is an oil feed line. The cam is rifle drilled with oil holes in the lobes. Jim

Bumble Bee warning color scheme. Whats the label say under logo on the side cover?

Jim what's ya gonna do about all that blank space behind the barrels?

Looks like a good place for a blower.....

It was just a back door complement of a clean engine profile. Knowing what I do now I think I could come up with a more efficient and compact turbo-snail blower, which really is a blower and not a compressor. You might study very closely, even stop motion, that 200 hp wet slip out demo, there is a world of surprising bike physics revealed that can be tapped on purpose in stead of surprise - with a torque curve that rises exponentially. Impeller and alternator should counter rotate and not stick out to foul leans over 60'. There's a Drouin post if exploring this more.

The blower idea was just something I have thought about from time to time. But it wouldn't be a Drouin. It would be this.

That is one cute roots type blower photo & cases nearby. We must have differing views on power adder delivery and heater characteristics. - vs /, plus visa versa. Some day I can post a photo here too.

I have used belt driven supers, turbos, and positive displacement blowers. I would go with the positive displacement blower every time for the street because of the wide powerband. They are great if you are not looking for a lot of boost. If high boost or mileage were a concern then I would go with a turbo. Belt driven supers have too narrow a powerband for my liking. Jim

Alrighty then, will just have to wait and see how mine behaves with me. Strange how some views of Cdos look so sleek and sexy while others look so obsolete long in tooth - on same Cdo.

Ron, nice looking bumblebee. Like hobot, what's it say below the Commando on the panel, you know those are not 69/70 decals? Verbiage above too? I take it those are not Amal carbs and using Rita? Otherwise looks pretty stock except for the front wheel. If you swing that mirror below the bars, you can get a better view, if you do it right it won't hit the tank either.

Looks like the normal Black 061699 '70 "Roadster" side panel sticker?

Looks to me like he has a 71/70 combo panel decal on it. From the 71 brochure.

And the 69/70 panel decal.

Maybe it's a combo decal with the 71 style 750 above the new Commando and 69/70 Roadster below? Not that I'm being anal or anything.

Yes (but then, nobody asked about the "750 Commando" decal, only what was "below" it).
