The 32mm Amal carbs were running with bellmouths and are a bit scored, but I am keen to get her back together, get her running later this summer and then if the motor needs sorting I'll get that sorted over the winter. The bike has just 19k on the clock, I don't believe the block has ever been apart, as the nuts at the base of the barrel look untouched. Everything including the fact I am just the 4th keeper points to the fact she's pretty original - oh and a 2 into 1 Dunstall exhaust system too.

I have put a camera inside the bores, l/h pot is fine - r/h pot has a small amount of scoring on one side only, so am inclined to clean up and get her going as is before performing any automotive surgery. Am replacing isolastic rubbers, which have sagged with age, but am v excited to get her up and running. Any thoughts on whether I should go further with the motor at this stage most welcome.

Looks like a very interesting bike.
One observation - the fibreglass tank will dissolve if you put regular ethanol fuel in it.
Quite a few tank lining products are available - Caswells works well, but other products are available, as they say.

Did Matt make that tail rack when he originally built the bike? I don't want any saddlebag stays, but I really need a place to mount a small tail bag and that would be perfect. I see the same rack on his #026 build in the gallery on his website. Your bike is absolutely gorgeous, btw.

One of the nice things about those sandbag mounts is that they can easily removed.It looks like the tail rack attaches to those mounts.Beautiful motorcycle!

I got my bike from Doug Mcadum after Him and Matt parted ways…its a nice but long story..the short version is that I bought a set of the compac bags from doug.. I had just got a bone stock 72 750 commando and needed bags
2 weeks later Doug calls me and tells me he just took CNW012 in on trade and asked me if I was interested… My wife said do it and the rest is history
The rack…I have brackets that take the place of the lower rack mount..which are like clam shell
Matched to the rear loop tube diameter so yes I can run the rack without the bags…this was 22 years ago so I don’t know if they are made anymore. I do love the “system” I can carry a weekends camping gear…not that I do much camping anymore

Thanks for the reply. I really like the compact size of your rack and the way that it aesthetically conforms to the curve of the frame loop. I might give Matt a shout and see if he has any additional information about sourcing one of these.

Matt does not offer them anymore. I think he had problems with the vendor who made the bags to go on his mounts.You might have a one-off tail rack.

I do believe i did get a bit of rare kit. I have 2 sets one have the CNW logo the rig consists of the tail rack which accommodates a nelson rig round bag modified the strap up to the rack…the bags were made by a company called
Commpac.When I used to travel on the bikes..with all three bags conservatively packed I could spend a long weekend poking through the blue ridge
I will dig out the luggage and post some photos…meanwhile I set up the bike with a set of low euro bars..looks sweet still apart photos later
 
Set her up with flanders low euro bars..that is the best look and not too bad ergonomics wise..need to get matt to send me a shorter braided brake line from the master to the union at the lower triple tree
