Parked up at Whistler Olympic Park. This was the longest ride I've done yet on the Norton...some 200 miles round trip...no easy task with a two gallon HiRider tank! Making 42-46 mpg.

Awesome that you can achieve mileage that good. Guess you weren't powering up the grades. Bike looks

Well I did think I was flogging it up the grades...was pushing hard past " the metric tonne" (that's 100 kph :) with a big grin on my face thinking how well she goes as the tap is opened when a sport bike RIPS past doing twice my speed/ accel rate...and he had a gal on the back!!! Both full Squid mode...so I put it down to my ATGATT poor aerodynamics ;-)

I got my forks back from Maxton (great service) so set about the front end.

I had some of Matts cNw yokes on the shelf and a new clock bracket, and some simpler lighter clip ons (previous ones were complex 3 piece jobs), so had been wanting to strip the front end for a while. On track days this year I decided the whole suspension needed an upgrade. That provided the excuse I needed!

Much neater looking I think. Also allowed a long overdue tidying up of cables and hoses, I used to have it set up so I could change over from clip ons to Roadster, but I don’t do that anymore so could tidy things up properly.

Saved about 6lbs while I was at it too!

I added a steering damper as well, lovely hardware from Kenny at NYC Norton...

Some photos from this summers trip to the international NOC rally in Austria, taken just below the summit of the Grossglockner pass in Austria, the other bike (brand new Yamaha MT09) belongs to my friend Rick. I managed to piss him off every time we refueled as I achieved 83 mpg and Ricks Yam was always a little worse at 81 mpg
