Thanks, guys, glad you like it.
Actually Bronze Pearl Metallic over white base. And lots of clear urethane. Thinking about a pinstripe, so I saved some clear to go over that and the graphics, which are vinyl stickers.

Oldrider-your bike looks FANTASTIC!!! I just sold a 79 Bonnie that is going to New Zealand via New York.

P. Egan once said, "There are three colors you should paint a motorcycle, and two of them are black" The last two examples illustrate his point. :!:

I've never seen a Black Commando I didn't like, except maybe this one...

Maybe it just me, but Norton and chopper shouldn't be in the same sentence.

Thanks ... in real life (on the road) the bike has a wonderful original and "often ridden" look about it.
No leaks, but I do run a rag over the shiny bits occasionally.
Congratulations to all the owners of the magnificent bikes shown here.
What a fantastic and exclusive family we have.
Cheers

Unless it's to say that a Norton should never be given the chopper treatment!

Took a little trip from Eden NY, 20 miles south of Buffalo, NY, to Merrimack NH on 7/3/16. 942 miles in one day with my 4 year old son. In a standard cab truck. My son, the only human being that can make me look calm/low energy.

But he was an angel and the end result was well worth the trip. The garage is getting quite full. 71 Roadster, 72 Bonnie, 75 Trident, 79 Bonnie, and an 84 R100 in addition to this.

New looks for the old MK3. Yesterday it was a red Interstate. Today it's a green Roadster. I like the riding position of the Roadster better. We will have this one at the rally next week.

Well it's official, I'm now a two 850 Commando owner. I just picked up my father-in-laws 850. He purchased it in 74 in England and toured Europe on it and then shipped it back with him.

Here's a shot of it freshly rolled out of his garage in Santa Cruz before our ride.

And here it is on the trailer to head back to Montana with me.

I have my stepfathers 73 850 on a lift doing some work to get it back on the road. This one is the one I grew up with it still has the original Dunstalls he put on it back in 73. They sound so awesome.

I've just joined this forum on the recommendation of a buddy, who incidentally brokered the deal on my latest acquisition:

It's pretty rough, but restorable.
It's a '74 engine in a '75 frame, so I'll do a restomod and not feel guilty.
I've yet to get the bike in my garage, as it's currently on its way back to its place of birth.
Yep, it's yet another repatriated motor cycle going back to England - we just don't have barn finds here any more.
I'm looking forward to doing a full restoration over winter, the initial plan being to get it up and running.
That way I can get the bike registered, and discover all the faults that will inevitably be lurking there somewhere.
I had a '74 Roadster back in 1975-6, so it'll be like greeting an old friend.
BTW, I recognize quite a few "names" on this site from TriumphRat.

71' Roadster bought recently, my first Norton. Added new headers/silencers. Next up new steel tank, carbs, suspension. Maybe drum stiffening kit.
