It's an MG , lowered , he let me drive it , I loved it . The yellow Triumph I did not enjoy so much , worn out leaf spring rear suspension . Norton reassembling tomorrow , but it's cold and wet so that's going slowly and sporadically .

Gorgeous weather here in Michigan. Went for a nice 50 mile spin and found this when I came back. Separation of my peashooter from the pipe...Is this normally what happens with age with these pipes guys? I have no idea how old it is. Wondering if I can have it welded, or maybe some JB Weld at the seam to keep it together and prevent leaking.

Find a very good Tig welder. Most epoxies like JB weld break down around 300 degrees F. A skillful Oxy-fuel welder may be able to braze it.

Maybe have it properly welded and flip it over to the other side.Proper alignment during the install makes a big difference.

Exhaust install advice .
1 . On sidestand . Tighten exh. rose buds first . Run up hot , Retighten again .
Tighten up muffler support nuts 2 nd .
Pipe to muffler clamps very lightly tighten , or not much at all !
Ride . Enjoy .
Repeat above steps .

About welding peashooter: I had the same problem. Luckily, I live close by to a real master welder, who was able to weld the assembly together and have the seam look like it was chromed. Thanks, Kim!!

What I have been doing with Norton: Last week: Signed up for a show, mostly cars but with a bike section. Did a short ride before show. There were two other Nortons and two people approached who were interested in joining our club. This week: Attended a wake for (yet another) Britbike repair facility that is closing. 😢

Whilst we were messin' about in Africa , avoiding winter , 3 of Toronto's best motorcycle workshops closed their doors .

Hi all. After nearly 6 years of faultless service, I had a breakdown! Mk3 850. Wouldn't start on the button, sounded like a flat battery. Managed to kick it and rode home (with the headlight on). I always keep it on a CTEK maintainer. Put it on charge and it was flat, but has re-charged to show the green light on the CTEK.

The battery is about 6 years old, so that's probably the problem. On a mk3, is there a simple check for charging output pre / post regulator? 👍

I ended up ordering these Taiwanese-made peashooters (not emgo) for about US$250 and they look nice. Went on easy, and sound authentic. That growl is what I was hoping would be preserved with these and they certainly were. I'm gonna take my English-made silencer to my fabricator guy up the road to ask him to see what he can do to weld it up nice. Keep that set as a spare - clean it up, and maybe mount them on the Combat since those are a little rougher looking.
