I’m not sure if it was me that said it, Bonz, but yes the throttle stop screws should become redundant. You should be able to adjust the height of the slides on the short link cables and still keep some slack in the throttle cable.
I reckon the tops of your carbs are slightly distorted, but if it’s working ok I’d leave it personally.
For your silencer I can recommend this putty…

Mart, I wonder what you mean by "full service". There should be a checklist somewhere that contains all the necessary adjustments, lubes, tightening, fluid replacements, etc., that would be included in a full service. I have a similar list for my MG that was prepared by a seasoned MG mechanic. I use it annually to go through the car before the driving season. Just a curious thought that popped in my head this morning.

I've taken the workshop manual section K and added a few things in. I've made up an Excel checksheet I go through. Then store it with my documents as a service record!

Thanks for the pdf Les, and you Mart for telling us about your checksheet. The section K looks to me quite light at only a couple pages, according to the pdf that les sent. I was thinking of a checklist that includes quite a lot more about a front to back complete review and service. I've attached the MG checklist for reference. You will see that it is quite thorough.

Hey Mart! Thanks for sharing your checklist. It looks great. I pulled out my binder with my printed manual and looked at Section K. There is certainly a lot more in the actual workshop manual. Now I know exactly what a complete service looks like.

Bike ran great for the 600 KMS. ( until it developed a small wobble just before pulling into home . ) Just put more air into the front and I'll try it again after resting .
Algonquin is bursting in mushrooms so I gathered many Boletes .
Fishing was slow from the wood strip canoe , but came back with 5 2 Lb. Smallies , ( the limit for Bass ) .
Oh yes , also a mallard that was clipped in the head by the truck in front .
Lost my bag of fishing gear , fell off and was munched by a truck .

Yet another one of your incredible adventures on your Norton Torontonian! That sucks about losing your fishing gear. It's a wonder to me how you brought back 5 fish and a duck on your bike. You gotta take a photo of that travel rig next time for us. I can imagine in my mind your bike looking like those photos in India of people piling up all kinds of stuff on motorcycles...

All I did was replace a fuel line that was beginning to flatten out -- the one going from the pump to the filter. I didn't have my celebratory beer but took a nap instead...
I'm seriously thinking of ordering one of Matt's cNw starter kits. They keep going up in price, and I would love to have one!

In the morning we head north to the Electric Eclectics festival , more camping , but by pickup truck , I'm tired of Norton driving for the moment . As we age you will need the starter kit . Yes it's pricey but you need it .

The wobble on arriving home was low tire pressure on the front . Put in 4 more Lbs. and it's tracking true again .

Bike looks great but I would put a strobe on it as soon as you can. I sometimes get a lot of difference after setting it with the light.You did a nice job with your motorcycle
