Hello Richard , You are the real deal brother !Very remote, u gotta be fully fuelled before u start the pass, fuel stations are not en route , but there are are few within a 30 mile radius, strangely enough we saw a bunch of Belgium registered British classic cars including a DB5 Aston Martin ( estimated value £500,000) being driven on the worst road possible , clutch on that car was smelling a bit , the road was fun but doubtful if I’ll do it again, look up you tube videos , lots of thrills & spills.
Home now 1000 plus miles since Saturday , & 31,000 from new . View attachment 105913View attachment 105914
That Terry? How's he getting on?View attachment 106458May Day run to Hastings yesterday. Didn’t actually get there but good to get out.
Yes. Out on his CCM as it's lighter than the Norton. The vibrations cause his right hand to stiffen up, which is a little concerning for him, but can still do short journeys. He was going to Northampton meet on a bike but after yesterday decided he will go in a car. That Terry? How's he getting on?

I have considered it but no room
Cerakoted? No plans to black out the engine casing decals Stu? Lots of black-silver contrast there, it might look even better than it normally does.Sneak peek of the new engine build. Cerakoted the castings black. I'm going to do the same with the oil pump too.
I’ve been using Cerakote for years on car parts and exhaust with excellent results. You’ll be very happy with it. Looks great.Excluding the engine removal, complete strip down and rebuild, the cerakote process took me around 12hrs. Its a ceramic paint, heat resistant etc....used a lot on guns. Had to replace many engine bearings that couldn't be safely removed. Then lots of heating up of the cases again in the wife's new oven to get the bearings back in. Also found out my early billet balance shaft was incorrectly spaced, so it was a worth while strip down anyhow. The polished cases were re-polished by Harry at Briteworx. No, no intention of blacking in the lettering tbh.
Also made up some retro ht leads...which in particularly proud of.
Cheers! Only down side seems to be that it's so thin that to the touch it's as rough as it was when it came out from shot blasting.....run a microfiber cloth over it and it's covered in fluffI’ve been using Cerakote for years on car parts and exhaust with excellent results. What are you using for shot blast? Sand, shot peen, walnut shells, soda?Cheers! Only down side seems to be that it's so thin that to the touch it's as rough as it was when it came out from shot blasting.....run a microfiber cloth over it and it's covered in fluff![]()

Try a finer grit of media next time. I generally use the grit that I’m trying to duplicate or restore.Shot, quite coarse stuff tbh.
