Thanks Tony.
No they will not and I’m not going to tip over🙃
I can put a folding pegs any day as most aftermarket pegs are connected with an M8 bolts…
Folding pegs would be a good solution. What I want to get installed is folding footpegs that have the vibration absorbing rubber foot pads also. But I see what you have done is cut off the folding part and drill and tap for 8mm bolt .

There are many folding pegs with rubber on them and the cutting and drilling is very easy and fast to do.
You can message me privately if you want and I will gladly show you many pegs with rubber and none above £30 for a set…

Last weekend, first ride for some time but new heated grips. About 44 miles in all

What a rear end

I have found some footpegs I can make work on the 961 without mods to the bike.

This is the result , it looks odd but in reality works good.

The all important vibration isolating design I wanted . And a flat wide surface for my feet .

Great 200km blast out today with the boys. Fat boy breakfast and home in time for tea and medals.
A few first gear selection problems, but other than that faultless and she pulled like a train. 200 clicks is the maximum for me though, or I need to be winched off the bike at the end of the ride:rolleyes:!

Suprised to see the fuel light come on as I pulled into the driveway - normally get more than that, I think!

Lovin’ this bike as much as ever! Ride it till it explodes and worry about it then - sounds like a legitimate plan to me!😁👍

Hi Tony,

What’s wrong with your original footpegs?

As far as I know the rubber on the footpegs is ONLY for traction and has no effect on the vibration what so ever.

From my experience and from replacing now my footpegs to solid ones without rubber the traction is 1,000% better and much less vibrations than from the rubber ones.

Rubber helps reduce vibration. Plus they fold allowing less scraping during leaning or if they snag something.

Solid pegs produce more vibration.

Hello ND2020 , The original foot pegs had no problem other than the vibration coming through the pegs and I didn't like the look so much. The vibration issue is more apparent on longer trips at freeway speeds . The pegs I installed have a rubber pad which separates the bottom of my foot from the hard metal of the peg with an air gap so to speak.

Oh so that might help with the vibrations a bit...

Do you know of what bike these footpegs you put? If yes then we can look for what other pegs fits that bike and it will fit us also...

How far do you generally ride at one time and what kind of shoes / boots do you wear?

With the stock pegs and your new pegs. How much vibration did you notice?

I wear an ankle height leather boot 🥾. The new pegs with the iso rubber pads feel better. I ride usually 70 to 100 miles some days almost 200 miles.

Hello Again , The foot pegs are from eBay and they're supposed to fit BMW F 650 and Aprilia Dosaduro 750. I had to modify the pivot hole in the footpeg to fit the Norton 961. Just so you know it’s not a direct fit. But it’s easy to do with a rat tail file.

The footpeg only needs the modification, the bike you don’t need to modify anything.

Just a few facts, you all know enough about the 961 so..............Ribblehead railway viaduct going over 'Batty Moss' took five years to build, 2.300 workers built it and one hundred died doing it . 440 yds long, they didn't have metres back then , and it gets pretty breezy up there because in 1964 a few cars were blown off the train transporters into the fields below.

Geez PB, you’re on the wrong side of the Pennines there mate:oops:!! Proceed post haste back over to gods county; the bike will run much better in the clean air! Say hi to Accrington for me whilst you’re there! We’ve got a railway viaduct for you to look at - not as impressive as Ribblehead but older I think.

PS. Bike’s looking great - where did that nice protector plate come from (rear brake)?

You are right, the Accy viaduct was built about thirty years before Ribblehead (1840) , I got sick of the chainguard fracturing after about the second time so I made a new one from stainless/s and while I was in the mood carried on and fabricated the cylinder cover as well. I love messing with my 961 and would forgive her anything , I'm afraid I'm smitten big time there's no hope for me. 🛠️ 🤩
