Hey Stu, I’m ‘sticking’ (literally) with Michelin. Had a great experience with the Michelin Power RS; super sticky and long lasting - go figure! Scrubbed the Michelin Power 5‘s (next iteration RS) in today. Same, same - lots ‘o’ lean angle and rock steady. Not surprising really - the ass end is hardly gonna get all squirrelly accelerating out of a corner with only 87 horses on tap! They appear to have a slightly steeper side wall, so rubbing out the Michelin Man logo (which is compulsory as we know) may be more challenging.

87 horses ?

Forgive me, I thought you were talking about the 961…?

I was talking about my 961 FE. The compounded layers of Carnauba wax have a multiplying effect on horsepower! It’s the slipstream baby, yehh!! Thought everybody knew that !

And this is a crack to watch out for....centre exhaust hanger. Although a couple have reported an improvement in vibrations since the hanger breaks free.
Mine cracked in the first 6 months of ownership (early 2017) and was removed. Had a good look with the mechanic at the time and we decided to go without the centre mount. Header mounts, rear hanger and well positioned, secure pipe clamps and things are all good. I don’t know about the impact on vibration - I’ve never had any through the foot pegs. I get vibration through the bars when I’m at certain (constant) revs, never when I’m ’spirited ridin’ up and down the gearbox.

When I had the short opens on mine, the bolt went MIA before anything cracked! :p

I have just the opposite . My pegs give me unpleasant vibrations , and my bars feel much better.

You need to pay more attention to yer ‘nuts’ Vern! That could end very badly!!
I have previous in that regard! Especially when building stuff, where I get all the bolts/nuts in and think 'great, I'll tighten that later'. I do try and pay attention these days! Apparently, tight nuts are good? 🤔 :D

I like my nuts loose!! Centre bolt is allowed to spin or not done up tight. Everything likes likes a bit of twixt exhaust and frame.

Guys,

Hurry up and order these if you don’t have them already(and if you installed or thinking of installing handlebars mirrors).
These are very rare M8 to fit our mirrors holes as most bikes use M10.
They are cheap order 3 sets to have spares so you won’t regret it later…
***You need to order the set that one screw is clock wise direction and the other one is anti-clockwise direction as photo attached.

Play is missing, small keys fat fingers 😜

My favourite motorcycle by far…

Upgrades include full titanium Zard 2:1, carbon wheels, numerous ti bolts, carbon front mudguard, rear licence plate holder, hugger and chain guard, and finally Brembo PRS adjustable leverage (not span) radial clutch and brake masters. I’ve tracked this and it runs very well.
