This sort of thing just amazes me. All that tech to make a motor long long past any sensible use. But that it can be done is so impressive. My ancient computer will not run the homepage of the vendor so can someone tell me what the out the door price is on this jewelry?

$5000 (I presume NZD because it's a NZ site, but doesn't specify) 👍

Starting bid is $4800 (NZ) or buy it now for $5000.

Delivered to the US in the current tariff environment they would be $4500-$4700 USD if you paid the $5000 NZD and depending on the exchange rate and shipper. A new set of cases from AN would be around $2600. The billet cases might be better - they are certainly "cooler". But that's a big price difference especially if there's a problem, is there a solution?

For that much money you should be able to get them with the crank aligned with the bore center. Has anyone checked this?

You mean with offset negated? That's rather unlikely. I doubt SBR would risk any incompatibility issues.
On the other hand, does 850 crankcases possess the same offset as 750 cases?

Probably made by Tony Stanwell who had/has the SBR Norton race bike that has been campaigned with great success around the world.

If there is a race class which suits a Commando engined race bike, it might be worthwhile making a concerted effort at rationalising individual efforts to make a complete motorcycle which could be sold. However race rules are often slanted to assist the people who make the rules. So it is probably a chicken and egg situation.
