They look a lot like the two sets of Kenny Dreer VR880 cases I have, except the VR cases are drilled and tapped for the alternator studs using the late 850 pattern.

Does anyone here know anything about these crankcases? I've tried to Google them but couldn't find much.

They are made in New Zealand as per the eBay link.
A search mentioned 'sbr
I wonder if that is Stone Brothers Racing of V8 Supercar fame or you could ask the eBay seller.

The seller appears to be Graeme Crosby the racer who has won Daytona, Imola and the IOM in the early eighties. He has a serious pedigree and raced a Moriwaki Kawasaki with straight bars and a radical sit up and beg style with considerable success.

Don't forget 500GP.
One of the searches mentioned him but not in a direct link to the cases even though the seller is a Graeme.
Asking the seller would soon find out, that is a fairly serious machining center in the You Tube link not something even a above average punter would have in the back shed.
SBR on the other hand might be the machinist and GC the retailer.

Nice bit of kit and very impressive winnings with the racing so has proven them to be all good.

Here is a pic of the bike that runs with them, the bike owner is the guy who had the cases built.

It's just about to the point where, if someone comes up with a decent tank, you can build a Commando without using any original parts.

I've wondered if I'd live long enough that'd there's be ongoing future for Commandos as unreplacables broke up. Gosh what kind of bickering and bantering will follow when some one can state they have an essentially correct Commando w/o anything Norton made but the logo.

This brings up an interesting question. Could someone produce an object that looks like the Nortons we own, but with a different name, using all new parts, and with the proper permits from uncle sam, legally sell them as new motorcycles?

There are lots of firms out their who will happily build you a brand new 'Seeley Norton' but with no parts from Seeley or Norton.

Ditto with a 'Manx Norton'.
