So I have a 72 and a later 850 centerstand. I had to get the later bushings. I need to drill out the cradle but unfortunately the frame is in the way.
A kit to fit the 850 stand to '71-on Commandos was available from early 1973, supplied under part number 064874 according to a Norton service release (N3/39).
The 064874 kit contained:
Stand 064301
Spring 064643
Spacer (2) 064873
Bolt (2) 062040
"2" parts - number unknown (nuts for the bolts-maybe)?
Washer (4) The part number of which has been over-typed with another number (maybe the bolt number) so is illegible?
So the conversion kit apparently uses two 064873 spacers instead of two 064057 850 "pivot bush"?
The service release does not mention anything about needing to drill the cradle?
The 064873 spacer is still available from AN, and it's dimensions are given, so maybe fitting two spacers that size would save you having to drill the cradle?
