Hello, What size socket or wrench is required for the large sump plug with the mesh filter in it ?
850 Mk1 . I have removed it before and cleaned it, but I think I misplaced the tool I used and will need to get a new one.

Mine's not stamped, but it is 1.5" across the flats of the spanner / wrench.

Should be 1 1/2" which I believe is the same size as the nut that secures the sprocket to the gearbox.

A trailer hitch ball wrench has 1.5" on one end and works great. It's $8.99 at Harbor Freight.

If you intend to use a socket or box wrench (ring spanner), grind the lead off so there will be full contact with the thin nut.

I have a new sump plug with non fitting thread. Was there different ones, or is it simply wrong made?

Trailer hitch wrench besides Harbor Freight usually Walmart or any autoparts store like O'Reillys has them.
