Our 961,s usually appear on this section of “ A N “ with some historical background or great view , we’ll use yer imagination a bit please , bike parked in Wellington Cresent Ramsgate , name after the Duke as he was always lurking around here when we had all that bovver with the french, other pic is of “ Albion House Hotel “ , built in 1791 , Princess Victoria later to become Our Queenie , stayed there regularly in early 1800,s , Royal family was short of cash at the time I think
You will need tubes for the intake runners : These are 2in. ID silicone from Silicone Intakes website .Get the 30deg. bend. You will also need 2in. stubs .
You can find all of this locally and there are other ways to do this. You need to get bike dyno tuned to realize the most benefit from this mod. Look at the thread inlet upgrade and read through it . You will have to manage the mounting of the air box temp sensor and the engine breather .
One of my filters dropped off on the motorway and I struggled to get a replacement so I bought some same design but a bit shorter..... I fitted bigger injectors to my 2017 Omex Euro4 96CR; at lower speeds the lambda feedback makes it run as normal but at higher revs on open-loop there's a nice mid-range gain. Mounted the air box temp sensor with a simple bracket to the frame using a rubber-lined p-clip and using 15mm solder plumbing fittings and two cheapy little filters constructed an idle valve breather/ oil breather vent - the pipe between the two little filters is blanked of - and an ebay oil catch pot mounter above the regulator, again using p-clips. Personal choice but I went for grey silicon bends....
Great midweek blast today - perfect weather, semi silent roads and not a Rozzer in sight! Just as well as we were ‘stretching the limits’ a little!
Lots of chatting at the bikers stop as usual - mostly we olde retired gentlemen of course. Need to check myself - I often talk her down a bit when asked about reliability. It’s been a few years now since I had any difficulty whatsoever, and that was a failed gear link rod. Pretty sure it’s vicarious negativity, absorbed from online!
Miles and miles of (reasonably) well surfaced roads with awesome scenery, 15 minutes from home. Have to pinch myself sometimes. In the past I’d still have been fighting my way out of a city, or in some locations dealing with potholes the size of a planet!
Around 08:30am pre breakfast run.
Getting a ‘banker’ in before the ‘monkeys’ start throwing themselves into the scenery, closing the road and spoiling it for everyone!
