I would not use Ti bolts. The nuts have bottomed out on the stud threads and now the studs will unscrew when you unscrew the nuts. I have had good results using two (2) exhaust gaskets per exhaut port. This way you will have more crush before the nuts bottom out on the studs. Certainly replace any nuts that look bad or have corroded with quality stainless hardware .
Thanks Tony.

Where can I get the exhaust crush washer/ gasket?

Hi Stu,

I thought these are titanium on yours…
Why use paste if putting bolts? Or you only put the paste on the bolt thread?

Can you please share the SS bolts you put and measurements…

Some ugly and bad quality bolts and nuts on the 961, I started to replace already but need more tips for the rest…

Thanks
The stainless bolts, in the same design as the Titanium, are available easily online. Most bolts of this design on my build are Titanium though.
Due to galvanic corrosion and the possibility of the stainless galling when removing the bolts at a later date, I used a graphite paste on the threads.

Gave it a little more time. Got Bob at The-Machine-Shop, who a few of you will know, to tig the intake sections together....then I polished them up.

That looks ’the dogs’ Stu, very nice indeed - the detail is really gonna make the bike, as it always does.

Not sure why this thread is on the Pictures forum, however, you need 49mm crush washers. If you can't get any let me know and I can buy some and send them to you.

Those are nice and thick 5.2mm .

Thanks a lot Clffa!
I think this thread is here because most of the times when someone upload a picture a conversation about it starts......

Just one of those rides today where ya could just tell things weren’t gonna go according to plan! Maybe cos there wasn’t really a plan - quick 120km impromptu blast to try and scrub the tyres in fully and test out the tech on the new lid.

Met up with my riding buddy and quickly realised that I’d charged up one Sena and brought the other! Started up the lid and got an SD Card error - I’d left the card in the back of my computer at home…… DOH! It’s an age thing of course, not a red wine the night before thing - honest:oops:!

Bollox to the high tech, I decided to concentrate on the low tech - the Commando. She ran like a dream until right at the end of the ride. I had to stop in a hurry but my front brake resevoir decided to keep on going, only saved from tumbling down the road by the brake line and a 5c clip!

Oh those (not very) ‘good vibrations’!

As good as they look, I think the added weight adds even more stress to the bracket as it’s a known problem with the plastic reservoirs.

Perhaps a rubber washer between the bracket and the perch clamp to help with some of the vibration
