Tramlining !!!! - Avon Road Riders

Just found that Avon's suggested pressure for "classic bikes" is 25F 28R.

Just to add to the confusion but closer to what they told me (29 F 34 R).

Higher pressure means better tyre life? That seems back to front, no?
All relative I think.

More air means tyres run cooler, so I guess that helps with wear.

But only up to a point, go beyond that and you’ll reduce the contact patch such that the centre will wear fast.

Sort of remaining on topic - has anyone got any feedback on the Michelin Road Classics yet?

Looking at the feedback on the Michelin Website, not everyone is impressed...

Most gripes seem to be about the tyre not sitting straight on the rim, but it could be something else?

I just fitted one to my PR front wheel, and sure enough it didn't run straight when I spun the wheel. this was after putting 110psi in to get the tyre fully seated.
After deflating, breaking the bead (easy) and re-inflating with more soap applied to the bead, it went on straight.
Usually tyres audibly pop onto the rim when inflating, but these didn't.

Popping into position is a characteristic of tubless tires popping over the bead lock ridge on the rim.
Vintage rims and tube tires rarely make any noise/sudden movement as the go into position.

Indeed - these are tubeless tyres ;)
I was more curious about other people's experience with these tyres,

Sadly, my "tram lining test" will not occur for a year. :(
Due to the classic "circumstances beyond my control" I didn't have a chance to get out this week as I had planned and we are leaving Mexico (where the Commando is located) tomorrow, not returning until Dec, next year. Today I'm prepping the three bikes here for their one year storage. I'd like to have the Commando shipped to TX and probably will at some point...maybe next year.
