New owner - first on the road ride

That's a nice read for a change. Cheers.
I did have one slight moment of panic.... at the 68mile marker my fuel light came on then 50yds later went off, then came back on and stayed on for the remainder of the 8mile ride home. I THOUGHT I had filled the tank before I left, maybe I could have squeezed another litre into the tank I don't know, but I was pretty shocked to see the light come on so soon. I will check tomorrow to see how much petrol it takes to fill her up again.

Me at my favorite biker gear outlet... my 1st 'official' ride on Her Majesty's roads :)

Hi Alan, I have started a conversation with you. Yes, would love to meet up with fellow owners! My plan is to get my 961 run in and 1st serviced asap. During this period I will have gotten more feedback from the riding position, tank range etc then I will know for sure what my limitations are :)

Whereabouts are you? I am down in Boston, Lincs. I quite fancy a ride up to Jem Speed Shop in Batley for a look around and one of their English Breakfasts, that would be a run of 100miles for me on reasonable roads but first I need to familiarise myself with my new bluetooth headset/satnav setup as I'm not familiar with the roads 'up North' lol

Keep an eye out for meet ups being posted here, there is one this month down in Surrey and I'm thinking of next month popping down to Krazy Horse in Bury St Edmunds who are a Norton dealer and have a great cafe, that's if others ate interested. Also I will be riding across to the factory for first service hopefully by mid-April.

Hi Mark - I've sent you a reply & a bit more info. I'm near Doncaster and we visited Krazy Horse during the NOC rally last Year - they've got some interesting stuff. The Surrey meet up is a little far but as someone said earlier, the Donington Hall fortnightly bike nights would be a good place. I missed them last year but went to a couple in 2016.

I'm in South Bucks, High Wycombe. Keeping an eye on your suggested meets.
I'd like to join some of these , various circumstances permitting.

If you're thinking of visiting Jem Speed in Batley let me know and I'll try to join you, I don't live far away. I'm awaiting delivery of a 50th edition Sport, hopefully quite soon??

Some interesting bikes in JemSpeed, you can also get tattoos, haircut? amongst the old and new bikes etc... Pete

Ok, maybe we can put Jem Speed down as a potential pitstop for a meet with our north Midlands/Manchester owners.

Hope you get your Sport in good time, don't forget to add a few images and riding experience! Lots of new UK owners this year!

Shall we make it the 14th then.

Actually, that raises an interesting question, I wonder how many AN members are NOC members?

I’m not.

I’m in the NOC gang to ,I’ve got the app on my I phone to ,but not a lot gets put on there bout 961 ,in fact I’ve started a few threads similar to ones on here like pictures, meets & accessories but the take up is bit slow
