Hi there,
Yesterday I escape from home to my workshop, I polish the forks to a mirror finish.
Tomorow I will put the forks on the frame and put the raised Tomaseli clipons.
Next week I will receive my new tires: Bridgestone new Batalax BT 46, replace the BT45.
My former front tire was 110/80/18, not more made.
The BT46 is 110/90/18, the tire will be a bit higher, can it have a influance?
Your advice pleace
Thanks
Yves

I have the same size BT 46 on my N15.
Excellent tire.
I 'll come see you next week.

I have no doubt that the BT46 is a good tire, but I wish to know if the difference between a 110/80/18 (BT45) and a 110/90/18 (BT46) can do something bad on the road holding?

The difference is [or should be] the aspect ratio [height] 110 is your width= 110mm approximately, the height is 90% there of= 99mm, where as the 110/80 is 110mm width with a height of 88mm this will be approximate as I have seen up to 10% difference in a size between manufacturers.

Yves, the aspect ratio calculation seems to be pretty much ignored by many manufactures these days. I don‘t know why!

See chart below:

Eddie, previously Yves was running a 110/80x18 BT45 now they want him to run a 110/80x18 BT46, according to your chart the 110/80x18 BT45 has an OD of 630mm where as the new 110/90x18 BT46 has an OD of 656mm.

You’re absolutely correct there, well spotted. My error, I read the wrong tyre (I’ve edited my post so as not to leave wrong info for posterity).

I think a 26mm difference is bigger than I’d be happy with. But despite the theoretical change in tail, quicker turn in, etc, I honestly don’t know what the real life effect would be.

But I note the size differences between old and new are the same for the rear. In other words Yves, if you don’t want to risk changing the handling characteristics, you might consider changing the rear tyre too.

Hi Nigel, I will change the rear tyre to.
I think that the size of the most things in live don't matter: My old friend in my jeans as the size from a baby: 46 inches and 8 pounds, no girl ever complain so far.
Yves

Yves, if yiu change both then the relationship between front and rear will be the same as it is now.

Glad to hear the girls don’t complain about your 46 inch legs...

Hi there,
To day I mount my new tires, Bridgestone Batalax BT 46, 110/90/18 on the front, I think I will must raise the front mudguard, the OD is 24mm higher as the former 110/80/18
The new back tire is still the same size 120/80/18 BT 46 but is higher as the old one BT45.
There is a 120/90/18 BT46 but not in stock.
Tomorow I will bleed then front brakes and put the weels in.
Pics next saturday

A old women call the Vet:
Allo Dokter, Two dogs are fucking in front of my door, what can I do to stop him?
-Drop a bucket cold water on him, they will stop.
Allo Dokter, I put a bucket cold water on him but they still don't stop, What can I do?
-
Hit them with a broom, that will help for sure.
Allo Dokter, I try with the broom and they are still fucking, what can I do?
-
Call them three time on a row
Are you sure that will help?
-I am not sure with dogs, but with me it works very well.

This is the situation so far, note the new tires

I need to find a solution for the mudguard, the front tire is higer as the former one

IMG_6585.jpg

Here is the solution: new aluminium plates with slots, so I can adjust the high from the mudguard. The pic is no good in reality the slot is facing the bolt

Hi there,
Very slowly, step by step, it's start to look like a motorcycle.
I don't think that I will finish the bike as planed ar mid-february.
Tomorow I will start with the top-half fairing, the fairing must be raised becouse of the raised clipons.
After I will do the eletrical, and later the engine.
I may not forget to clean and polish every singel component, if I forget one, you will see nothing else, like a piece of shit on Trump is hair.

A white man is in the restroom with a guy from Congo
-How can it be that Congolees have sutch a big thing between there legs?
-Well Sir, when we fuck in Congo, we go very fast in and very slooooow out, this is the secret.
The white man go home, put his wife in bed and go in very fast and out very sloooow, go in very fast and out very sloooow.
His wife look at him and say: joe, you fuck like a Congolees now?

Keep you posted
I wish Cdjame a full recovery after his chiurgical intervention in a few days.

Thanks Yves, I am however going to have to delay my shoulder surgery. Life has thrown us another curve ball and unfortunately my wife Megumi, has been diagnosed with a much more serious problem requiring a two to three week hospital stay after the surgery the doctors are prescribing for her craniopharyngioma. I want to stay on topic and avoid de-railing your thread. So I'll PM you, but thanks again for the thought Yves, Cj

Hi CJ
Wish Megumi the best.
I don't know what craniopharyngioma is, the name alone make me afraid.
I am with you

Hi there,
What I did this week:
I make new busches for the gear shift and brake levers, I use graphited teflon to do it.
I work on the top fairing, with my new raised clipons I must raise the fairing, I don't wish to go in details, but this is a difficult work.
I receive the provisional 5.000 euros from the insurance from Calimity Jane, so I pay Jim schmidt for the long rods, pistons and more.
The coating from the pistons will take two weeks, that give me time to finish fairing and electricity loom.

Never think that your situation can not be worster, Marina is in a weel chair and I am disabled to, you should think nothing more can hapens,
well it hapens to me, to difficult to me to explain, I will ask Mutanawe to do the sad story
Yves
