Here's a taste of my '72 Dunstall Norton ready for it's first real ride in 20 years since my family made the great migration west from Pittsburgh, PA. The bike was garaged for close to an eternity before dad let me get my hands on it. 4,600 miles, the 810 kit is sitting on a shelf in the garage but we figured we ought to leave the 810 badges on there for good measure.

Did you have to register that Dunstall as a '72? It's really a '71 (and your lack of a sidestand supports that 
)
Dunstall silencers make a Norton sound better! When I get spare time, I'll have to upload pictures of my two Commandos. Just not enough time these days...........

It honestly wouldn't surprise me. It's been registered as a '72 since the beginning of time itself and yes, the Dunstall pipes sound absolutely incredible. Who the hell knows what Dunstall was really up to. Bike was ordered in July '71 per below

So I drain the last gulp of my forth pint and turn to my good friend and say “you know, you should sell me that Norton project you haven’t gotten to for the last ten years”…. And he did. Dam it!
Looks like she was a real looker in the 70’s, baby blue frame, full Dunstall bodywork and combat heads. Good chance it was a racer in the beginning.
It also looks like the last owner was a hillbilly that only owned a (metal) hammer, a pair of vice grips and a can of black spray paint. It’s been sitting for around 30 years from what I know. The frame was bent, it has no electrical system and everything is worn out of specification. Not to mention all the missing & broken parts.
After three months of disassembly, cleaning, inventorying & polishing I’m almost at ground zero. If I ever get the frame and crank back from the shops I can get started rebuilding. Hope I’m riding her by spring 2014!
