I often think Commandos look best in black, so I think mine is going that way soon. It is mostly black already but needs finishing/refinishing to a higher standard.
And may I say how refreshing to see a correct seat cover in place instead of the usual Mk111 type. Kudos.

I totally agree, I wasn't sure at first wether to go std gloss or flatten it a bit. The flat/satin looks the goods with the gold stripes and Norton decal and for now I'm happy with it. I got lucky getting hold of a Hirider tank and love the look and size of it.
My idea was to change over yearly between the Blue roadster set and the black Set and if I get sick of the flat colour or it gets marked up a little then
I'll rub it back with 1200 wet n dry and put a coat of gloss on it.

I thought for a moment that was original factory paint. Except for dents and dings, that's exactly what the original paint on the SS clone's Hi-Rider tank looked like when I fished it out from under a porch in Chicago.

Slowly putting the bike back together. Waiting on a new wiring harness and a misc. of other parts like all new cables,etc.

These are my two 1972 750 Commandos. The Blue Interstate I've owned for 37 years and it's gone round the clock during that time, used now mainly for touring. The red Roadster I've owned for 35 years, originally bought partly dismantled from a friend which I rebuilt in a cafe racer style, but last year I reassembled it as a Roadster, still with the Combat engine, so goes very well.

Hi, the screen is made by Givi that a bought secondhand, it mounts on the headlamp brackets and wraps around the clocks nicely. Here's a slightly better picture.

It has been apart for so long that I totally forgot how to put it back together and I did this once before in 1990 so it wasn't like I have never been down this road before. Just looked at the tires, and I will need to replace them before riding the bike because they are from 2003! They look perfectly fine but.......

Great, thanks Fross! As others have said, a beautiful pair of bikes. I got my bike out of 12 years' unavoidable storage last year, I had a go on it with the old tyres that also looked fine, but the ride was horrible! New tyres fixed it. Cheers.

I was wondering the same thing, it turns out there are many to choose from. A screen like that would be a boon with my standard European bars and my habit of riding a bit quicker than I ought ... Supposing it doesn't upset the handling at slightly more than legal road speeds ....

The Tank n Covers are painted Black and then have been clear coated with a Flat/Satin Clear coat.

Hi, I'm sorry but I don't know the model (I didn't buy it new). Maybe these pictures showing height and width measurements will help you find something similar.
