... As they leave the factory, the fuelling has to be set to pass emissions tests from a COLD start ( running lean) so he leaves his to idle for a few minutes before riding. Obviously, this can be altered later.

I believe this is controlled through the IAC (Idle Air Control) in the ECU, which is locked by the factory.
To adjust this the ECU would have to be hacked.
The other way around the restriction is to fit a PC.

Do I get a prize for Blue Boar Row in Salisbury?

If you don't mind me saying, I like your helmet! Any chance of a closer look?

Regards Clive
Thanks Clive, It's a silver Shoei Neotec with DIY pinstripes.

That would set you back £500 at least I would have thought. I currently used a white Nolan open face but with a big visor which does really well to keep the wind out when fully down. Trouble is, it has one of those extra wind deflector things on top and whilst it offers some adjustment, on the cafe racer, it reduces my vision so I may have to get a new lid.

Mine was done by Davida. It was before they did one especially for Norton, although I can't see it on the Norton site any more. I preferred the design of mine anyway. They did me a matt black and red one for my Bonneville a couple of years ago and it was £315. Really comfy helmets if you like open face. The Aviator Pilot goggles work well with those helmets and can be worn with glasses (worth checking that your glasses fit inside first though).

PS - I added the Norton logo as Davida wouldn't be allowed to do that.

Air cooled vertical twin... English seaside resort... sunshine... sea breeze... fish'n chips.... fond memories!

This picture makes me homesick for all the reasons you mention. Where was it taken?

Skegness on the Lincolnshire coast. This time of year is probably the best time, being surrounded by 1'000's of acres of static holiday caravans it is a pita when the season starts.

Nice picture and looks very nice in white. But where are the crowds around the bike, I was promised that. Mind you the lady with the two kids near the fish and chip shop looks to be headed your way.

lol. Actually... it wasn't busy at all BUT twice I had drivers stop, admire, thumbs up, drive around the small bike park and admire from the other side! I even had a 'mod' on his gleaming chromed Lambretta scooter come over and say 'Norton, nice bike mate!' :)

That looks nice. The one being sold by Norton clothing store looks good but was not too great on quality. I have owned my comfortable ##BRITISH MADE## Davida for years - I bought it because I found myself riding flat out everywhere with a full face whereas as soon as I get above 90 with the open face the strap starts to cut off the blood supply to my brain and I loosen the throttle grip.... With my goggles up on the helmet it is seriously strangling me above 50mph.

I got a pair of cheap round Lennon style glasses which fit well under goggles.

I also have an X-lite flip lid but find that when I'm down on the clip-ons the chin piece hits my shoulder and I can't turn my head to look behind me properly and anyway I just prefer the freedom of an open face.

I have two Scooters (both vintage) beside my Bonnie and my Norton in the shed...

I raced (on a Norton, of course) with a Bell open face helmet for several years, until I crashed and ground my chin down to the bone. Since then I've stuck with full face helmets, but I'm still tempted to go with an open face, particularly in hot weather.
