So, "She" finally arrived !

She started on the first kick!

I took her out for a quick spin and everything worked as advertised. No issues so far.
She runs great and I will ride her
for a few months before I start the rebuild.

It could easily be a daily driver, but I really want to bring her back to her former glory.

I shall call her "Nell."

*No, the pipes were not hot.

Very nice! I'm jealous. I'm a sucker for buying beaten-down, abused, non-running Commandos. There's not much immediate fun there, except at looking at them in the garage..

Looks ready to go as is. Unless there is something seriously wrong why not just enjoy it? Looks like mine only a little cleaner

Looks great, Did your Son find an internal problem.? I've never thought of checking the Bores by looking down the exhaust pipe...AC.

I was thinking the same thing. The only thing I would change are those atrocious handlebars.

Leave it the way it is and enjoy riding it, just fix the things up that need it as you go, the first thing get new handle bars, other than that it look sweet as it is
and have fun on it.

The photo of the lad reminds me of the cartoon in which Ogri asked the annoying kid next door if he 'wanted to see where the Christmas Fairy lived' ?

Just as he looked into the pipe, Ogri swung on the kick-starter.
