I am looking for some advice regarding the damage to the skirt, and how to precede.
These are from a MK2a , +20 barrel.
From the photos you can see that the chip missing is about 18mm long with a depth of 2mm. What options do I have?
I have a good machine shop locally but they don't have any experience with Nortons.

Personally I'd radius and polish it with a Dremel or similar
What you don't want is any sharp points for a crack to start from

I'd ignore it , seeing as the bore looks real good .
More importantly , where is the chip of cast metal now ?

I agree, still servicable. But, slide a piston in, use a feeler gage to confirm it's not got a localized deformation. In other words, right around the chip, could be dented in slightly.
If it did, polish with emery to re-establish clearance.
Quick & easy, no need to be overly concerned.
