-'53 Triumph frame
-'54 Triumph tank
-Norton Commando 750 engine & transmission
-Dunstall headers and custom low-profile exhaust system
-Oil bag from an Atlas (I think?)
-Lots of other various custom parts my dad managed to make work.. :)

lmao

I love dad's bike. I can actually touch the freaking ground when I sit on it!

I'm too short to put both feet on the ground on my '74 Roadster. :(

I can only imagine how bad it will be when I put a fat loaf of bread seat for an Interstate on it.. Ugh.

Gosh all mighty your dad has a sense of bad to the bone minimalist brute sex machine. I will take some styling functional clue from it for my special.

Hahahahahaha, I'll make sure to not inform him of any of the posts in this thread. He has a big enough head as it is. :p

That being said, I'm glad he's going to be the one teaching me all he knows about Commandos as we tear my newly-acquired bike (it's been sitting since August) down to nothing and then bring it completely back.. :)

It's definitely very cool. I know he's very proud of his work.

FWIW, I can never tell him about any of these comments...lol

I couldn't ride a bike without footpegs.

I did that once, and it was horrible.

Paul, I believe it has pegs. I could be mistaken, but I believe the pegs are some sort of steel tube and the actual foot controls are housed inside said tubes.

Again, I could be wrong.. :)

I just ain't seeing anywhere I could put my feet, and I'm only in 9-1/2s. Anyway, I've NEVER been able to get even borderline cofortable on a bike with forward-set foot controls, and I've ridden a bunch of different ones. It just always feels like my legs are getting tired trying to keep my feet from falling off the pegs.

Pretty dang cool rat bobber otherwise.

Cool ride, you do have to make sure none of your clothes hang on the back though and I'm with GP on the pegs, no way I would ride folded in half like that. Any idea how much it weighs?

This bike will never "wet sump".

Think about it...

No, but you'll still need an anti-drain valve to stop it draining back into the oil tank !

When Ogri's mate Malcolm built a Norumph out of the bits left over from everybody else's Tritons, they all laughed at him. Personally, I'd be too scared to ride my rigid Norton if it made anything like 60 BHP.

Comfort??? A beast like this ain't made for Comfort just bad boy tough guy feeling inside and same to outside viewers. Looks like toes could rest on the control shafts and pleasant in winter wind toe warmers. I wish I had such a common hobby to connect with my dad when he lived. He rode a Cushman before I came out.

There's no need to operate the rear brake pedal, just slide backwards on the seat and drop your arse-crack onto that triangular rear tyre.

How about some more detailed photos of the oil lines?

Steve,
My dad drove a Willys. Of course that was in Italy in 1947, but I got to ride in it.
