I installed a sparx three phase alternator and regulator, trispark electronic ignition (last year's model), and colorado norton works coil. At the same time I rewired my 1971 Commando to a positive ground. I also installed the eastern beaver h4 headlamp, a new horn, a new keyed ignition switch, and handlebar switch. New spark plug wires and resistor plugs were also installed. I have set the timing to 28 degree tdc before installing the trispark. For the life of me, I cannot get the bike to produce any spark! The battery tests for 12.3 volts. I'm getting just over 3 ohms across the coil. The headlamp comes on and hi/lo switch works. The horn will not. I do not have the horn on a relay.
I can only think of two problems that may be causing the lack of spark: (1) the electronic ignition is a dud or (2) the bike needs to be on a negative ground. Any ideas?
