Amal Mk2 Carb - simple question

Just got back from a run which was perfect, good starting, good reliable tick-over, and as far as I have been able to see no loss in power. :D
The idle was fixed with a n° 25 pilot jet (now I have my 1 1/2 turns out) and the flat spot with popping was fixed by adjusting the needle jet to position 2 counting from the bottom (n° 4 from the top) which richened the mixture in the middle of the throttle range.
I now have:
34 mm MKII 750 Roadster 1971 (std)
Main jet 270
Needle jet 2A1
Needle jet 106
Slide 3
Pilot jet 25

Hi all,

Just stumbled across this thread - interesting reading!

I'm trying to decide which way to go with the carbs on my MkIIA - the bike is in the process of being rebuilt, so all options are open.
I like the idea of a single MkII Concentric, but I'm unsure how the air filter arrangements work out. I note the RGM conversion has a K&N filter, but I'd be happier with a 'proper' breadbox filter. can these be made to fit the MkII conversion?
Mine came with the plastic box which I'd rather stayed where it is now - on the shelf!
