What Did You Do With Your Commando Today?

I think it was Mark I was talking to re. paint jobs. Had a most enjoyable ride from Newent to Leominster, had a chap on a Jota following me. I knew what it was as soon as I saw it in the mirror. Impressive machine.

Heading today to a local bike show and swap meet in Centreville Michigan. Biggest in the area I've read. I was there yesterday for a sneak peek and participated in a historic ride through the small town and through a covered bridge that I frequent on my Norton and in my MG. Terrific ride on a somewhat chilly evening, but sunny.

I rode it 300 miles to a memorial service for a club mate. The service was great, just a big motorcycle party, which is what the family wanted.
With the ferry rides and all I thought I would take the modern bike (Thruxton r) but that one had a dead battery.
The Norton ran great but ran out of gas about 500 feet from home, so I pushed the last bit.. I guess it won't quite go 300 miles on a tank, not at high speed anyway. 75 mph most of the way.

Glen,
It's good of you to be with your club mates memorial service. I miss one for ours due to my work schedule. It always good to get together with like minded companions.

Were you running two reserve petcocks to run dry?
A main petcock has a tube sticking up about an inch and a half, so it should still have fuel on that side of the hump in the tank. I usually stop the bike and lean the bike over to the reserve side to get the last miles out of her. Very common on a roadster tank. With my old bag of bones I usually want to stop to stretch my knees before that 300 miles which includes refueling and rest and a snack. But you made it home.

You know I can't remember what is in that bike for taps. It may well be that if I had leaned it over it would have fired up and saved me from having to push.
I know to do that, but totally forgot!
With the big tank I get thinking that it can go forever on a tankfull. They all run out at some point!

Not today but yesterday and the day before. Rode it harder than I ever have on some terrific mountain roads with a score of like minded souls, just part of three of the best bike-centric days ever in the company of some great characters.
Convinced me to ride more often without using ear plugs and just drink in the soundtrack.

Attended the show and swap meet in Centreville Michigan this past weekend. Great day out for sure. It was mostly a Harley Davidson gathering with only one or two vendors with a few Norton bits. Mine and a Square Four Norton were the only Norton bikes there.

We always talk horse power here mate..😉
What kind of horse power are you talking about? I've got a 3/4 horse power buffing wheel motor from China. Princess Auto/ Home depo/Crappie Tire/Harbour Freight all the same...
Seems their horses are Shetland's rather than Clydesdale's
AM I Wrong? Or did someone else pick up on this?🤔

It was the "C***a" word that triggered the need for moderator approval (I did) and it's not just covering the Pub section.

Steed? So you'd go for a Corbin seat then! :)
I just put up a wanted listing for a plain black one ...
