Norton 961 Alloy Tank

For comparison here’s my factory Norton tank. It appears TAB may be slightly larger?
Factory tank lookin good, I've never seen one. And I prefer a screw cap to anything else. But hey, if it has to be Monza style, so what?
TAB tank is based on the standard - provided by Ollie, I believe. (Sorry, but I don't know who this is coz I've not been here very long) My tank is the same so I guess the size and capacity is 'standard'.
And besides me & Ollie, I am told that a well known presence on this forum provided valuable input for TAB to work with. Great!
Now, for those interested I have attached an 'upskirt' pic of the TAB tank.

I fitted an alloy tank to mine (very black 2018 Anniversary job) but I didn’t like it! If I were doing it again I’d either paint it or go ‘all in’ and remove the airbox, change the seat, etc.

Seen this on Instagram. Anyone here own this?
Here is the Factory alloy tank painted. I had this done in September of 2018. I have since removed the Monza cap and put the Factory threaded cap back on. The Monza cap with the placement on the side just never looked right to me, at least with a painted tank.

Price to me in the US is £1200 (no VAT) plus £110 shipping. That would be £1310, or about US$1735. For UK buyers the price, with VAT, is £1440.

Thinking about it.

I had about £2.5k put to one side for Floppy Tank day so that's a bit more in the supercharger piggy bank! Not sure about the filler cap.........

As an aside I find that when the fuel is low the bike cuts while accelerating hard (ie normal riding) never heard this from anyone else - wonder what the options to cure this would be...

Clive, it’s not cutting out, its just the effect of those looong pipes scraping on the floor behind you…

Aesthetics and capacity be damned. I just want a tank I can secure after effing up the female thread on the left side of mine. Its covered with epoxy. Its a mess.
Are these being produced and ready for sale?

Yes , Should be ready for sale soon !

Apart from the angular bottom..prefer the curviness of the Norton version...which is pure taste, what an awesome tank and great price. I can see many bikes being fitted with these! If I did not have an Norton version, I'd be buying one for sure!

Ken,

I didn't notice an announcement from Tab on the forum anywhere, other than your posting.
Did Tab contact you directly?

They recently added the price and other details to their web site. That's where I got the prices from.

Wow.
I was on their site last week but there was nothing for the 961.
Now I see the first tank in the Norton section is for the 961.
They must have just added the new tank after Tuesday or so, great.
So who will be first to buy one, and report back to the forum, with phots of course?

It does look to be a good product.
I enquired about the factory style filler, i have a Givi tanklock tank bag that i would prefer not to lose, but at this point Monza filler only from TAB.
