UPGRADED Norton Commando Forum

Well here is the new layout. Here is the scoop:

Now running latest forum scripts. Unfortunately the old template would not work with thi smajor upgrade, so I made this new one.
The seacrh function now works and that was the main reason fro this upgrade.
For those of you that need larger text (like me) look just below the search top right and you will see "A"- Click the up/down arrows to change font size.
There are other cool things-- look around and you will see them.
All original posts are here and nothing was lost. I have tested all basic stuff and works well. Send me a PM if you se any obvious problems.

I took the motor out of Commando this weekend too as I am changing cam. Been a major Norton weekend. I had no idea this forum upgrade would take so long, but think it was worth it,

Where you log in there is a box bellow you can check to log you in automatically......

Could it be possible to restore the avatar photo size back to what it was before?
They are very small now.

Yes I noticed the avatar resizing issue and will fix it,

I am working on the registration page first. I am seeing lots of BOT or SPAM sign ups and that is more important. On the last board I wrote a script for that, but it is not working on this one, so I have to check each sign up manually. I am trying to automate the process and sort out some new code.

Aren't you using CAPTCHA for the registration? I think the latest version of phpBB has it included.

That might slow the spam down.

Yes capture is enabled-- Spam bots can read Capture with OCR

Just saw something yesterday that Google is trying some new CAPTCHA techniques. Hopefully they will work... for a while.

The secret is to use an photo as the CAPTCHA BG then they cannot read it. I will put some photos there and it will fix it--Cheers

Thanks for all the work to get this upgraded. It is much appreciated. I do have one comment on the search. When doing a search, first the appropriate posts for the selected topic come up, then one is selected for reading, but after completing one post and backing out hoping to get the list of posts again, I get an expired page prompt. It would be nice to go back to the original list of posts for the subject in question so as to continue reading on that topic.

How I get around this is when I get my search results I immediately open each topic I want to look at in a new window. If you use a tabbed browser it's not so messy.

I would prefer if the search result returned only one topic per result. But it seems to return multiple instances of a topic per search criteria. But not a huge deal. More filtering on my part.

Where it hi lights the search PINK in bg is really bugging me-- I cannot find it in the CSS, but will make it black or grey later...

The new avatar setting distorts it making it too narrow.
