removing rear isolastic and swingarm

Yes that small screw is removed, penetrated with oil, heated with propane. I'm gonna try that later today again. the cradle is no good anyways, it's already bent, plus it's got alot of holes in it from prev owners.
Speaking of bent , the swingarm itself will look a bit bent , but it was welded up that way at the factory .

If you want me to direct you to get a better Cradle..... There is a guy in Dunnville, Ontario, that may have what you need. P.M. me. He has a lot of used Norton parts.

To get that spindle out I would go to S.P. Simpson or A. Grainger and get a piece of 2 ft or more 1/2" threaded rod in national fine, with nuts and heavy washers. You need a to make a heavy slide Hammer! (if you can find it locally then that's great). National Fine or Imperial Thread Pitch is getting harder to find in these days and ages). Try Crappy Tire or Princess Auto but don't hold yer breath.
Screw the threaded rod into the spindle on the right hand side of the frame, and your slide weight though the rod and in between the washer and nut at the other end. Wack the f#k* out of it until it walks out of the two bronze bushes and the centre distance piece of the cradle assembly. It's kind of brute force and ignorance as the D.P.O. looks like he used grease as apposed to a thick oil....(140wt oil I use) to lube the (oil-lite) or oil impregnated bronze bushes.
That should do it.
Let us know your results.

Thanks Tom. I'm not yoo far from Dunnville? 30mins away in Welland. can't believe the force needed. I may try my 12 ton shop press just need to get it on so I don't bend the cradle , think I may have done it a little but. im guessing I can try and bend that back, heat or as I read no heat? what would u suggest?

I would use a good squirt of PB Blaster and keep soaking it for a while. a day or so. Or...what I use to get rusty things loose again is 50/50 ratio of Acetone and Dextron 2 transmission oil.
you need to let it soak. The centre bolt that holds the swing arm axle is clear or removed right???
Part #22.

Cradle no good, spindle no good, bushings no good: Use a Sawzall (or hack saw) to cut through the cradle and spindle on both sides just inside the cradle. Drive each side of the spindle into the center. Done in about 20 minutes!
