Looking good Yves, thanks for posting the beautiful photos! You are making great progress for someone who only has 3 hours a day to spend working on your bike..... Must be the part about how it is good for the soul. :) So, here is a question for you... where is the I. D. Plate? Or don't Seeley's have one, how do you register it for use on the street?

Yves the frame looks fabulous!

Is that powder coat, or two pack, or something else...?

Must be two pack, I am not sure... the frame was clear paint by Laura, the daughter from my friend Christian jadoul, he is the owner from a Garage and Laura do all the body work in the garage. What I know is that she use varnish that you normaly put over mat colour.
Anyway Laura is an artist and she can spray like the best.
The frame is blasted and clear coated, so the color of the frame is the original look from Reynolds 531 tubes

This is my secret, the bike is registred and this is the most important.
I still have a lot of hours to spend on the Seeley, I know you can not ritch the perfection, but I wish to be close....

Beautiful. I didn't think it would look that nice with just the clear coat, but I was wrong. It really shows off the craftsmanship.

Sorry to pry, I will not ask again. :) I believe you will make "yours" perfectly.....Maybe you should change the name from Sunburst to Solar Eclipse because I think it will be better than is was as Sunburst, and I think it will "eclipse" your old Big Spender bike and be better than that one too! :) Lookin' good Yves

Hi there,
To day I receive some news from the insurance, they receive the rapport from the two experts, not the final rapport, the final rapport will come at february, after a new expertise.
The insurance decide to give me a provision of 5.000 Euros (6.100$)
How should I spend this money?
I will buy the long rods from Jim schmidt with the pistons, beehive valve springs and the followers blocks, I still have the JS 2 smoothramp camshaft and the BSA followers from my crash bike.
I will not buy a Molnar 850 cylinder, I will keep the engine at 750.
I must buy also two new tires, the tires on the Sunburst have only 2.500 Km but are six years old.
I must buy also a new fork leg, one is lightly scratches and the oil seal is damaged.

To day I take my Fullauto head and the Maney cylinder of, I will go to my machine shop to make mesurments on the cylinder to know if I have to rebore or if a honing will be good.
After I will bring the head and cylinder to Herman for blasting.

Keep you posted
Yves

Congrats.

Some small things

Bigger valves and flow the head? Should go well with your cam and higher compression pistons.

A nice whiskey and a cigar to celebrate.

Thanks Gortnipper,
I will flow the head but no bigger valves.
There is already a Consentino fork, internals on the forks but I like the fork bushing kit.
The oilseal holder on my fork don't look original, I will strip the fork legs next week, I will know more then.
There is nothing to celebrate, the money I receive so far is peanuts!
The value of blood, sweat and tears is very low here in Belgium.

If you’re keeping the engine at 750cc Yves I would suggest standard sized valves should be fine.

Why gas flow the head? I thought the point of a FA head was that the ports are already ‘sorted’ ?

Nah. Well sorted for a stock motor.

With a hot cam, HC pistons, Keihins there is good room for improvement.

This is my FA CNC 850 head.

So now that I identified a problem with my prior velocity readings and corrected them -here is the flow tests with the 1.5mm oversize intake and a little work in the valve guide and bowl area.

Nice improvement for a steetbike running a .400 lift cam.

Those came out after I bought JS Turcite fork bushes, which are a slippery improvement from stock. I have them and am happy with them. They were a bit tight, so needed a bit of wet/dry sandpaper to the OD to get them right.

But with NYN built Cosentino forks, I would think their bushes to be the way to go.

Ok, looks like there are clear improvements to be made! But, don’t forget yours is an 850 and Yves is 750.

The increase in velocity would definitely be an improvement irrespective of engine size. I believe that within reason, the more velocity the better.

That’s not the case with flow though, there’s no advantage to flowing any more CFM than the motor can use. How much flow does a 750 need?

Better get the Dremell out Yves !
