Out today in deepest Cumbria getting some more miles on 'Black Bess', a lovely dry day but blooming cool the temperature was in single figures thank god for heated clothing. I like to go to some interesting places and add a little information in my pics to make it a little more interesting , so here is Pendragon Castle or what's left of it . It's a grade one listed building and apparently was built in the 12th century by Uther Pendragon the father of King Arthur , further additions were added in the 14th and 16 century. A gang of Scots came down in 1342 and buggered it (probably football hooligans) so it was rebuilt in 1660.
It was sold in 1962 to a local land owner who still owns it there are signs on the gate stating keep out private property so I did. The smaller pic is what it looked like when built, , probably by John Bloor's housing company

. I will update my thoughts on the 'new' Norton soon but I am growing to love it more every ride.
