Pictures of your Norton 961

A nice sunny morning so took a couple of pics of the new arrival.
Motad shorties, bar end mirrors, cNw plug leads and a non factory breather seem to be the only mods.

I actually worked a couple of summers in this place 1974/1975 ,28p an hour rising to 30p an hour, thought I was the cats pyjamas, ice cream parlour been here for nearly 100 years ,was owned by Italians for decades, they only worked the summer,,back to Italy every winter,The Halycon Days of seaside MARGATE ,American airbase 4 miles away in the fifties, mods & rockers in the sixties,FORTEs ice cream parlour is a bit tied these days, more the youthful art set that’s coming to Margate now ,rather than a fifty something retro guy

Another loan ranger. Did you stop for coffee and a breakfast sandwich (2 x bacon, 1 x sausage, 1 x egg on brown seeded bread) like I did

Nice ride out, bit wintery but passed the milestone mileage 961. Back via rockingham raceway

Just a bacon sarnie and a coffee, best breakie is at Krazy Horse in Bury St Edmunds - agree, getting nippy so might need the long undertrousers soon

Very nice.
Can I ask you , when did you order your bike ?
thanks

Hi Sam, a long wait on this one, March 28th was when I paid the deposit, it has been ready for a week or so but I wanted a 68 plate hence the extra wait, but very close to 5 months

very nice. It looks like you have the de-cat kit? You may like to consider removing the Lamda sensors (see separate 'Lamda Delete' thread) and then I am sure you'll get an even bigger grin....!

Thanks for the info, I ordered my Commando in Feb this year and I'm still waiting, ridiculous !

Still waiting for yours ?. Have you test ridden one ?. If not you're welcome to take mine for a spin and see how much better it becomes with a couple of thousand on the clock. Mark.

Thanks for the offer Mark, no I still haven't ridden one , and I'm still waiting for mine , I've given the factory one more week to build my bike, my patience has run out.
Will let you know what happens.

I think mine took around 8-9 weeks. I think up to 3 months is acceptable for a hand built british bike like this. Have they said why there is a delay. Maybe they are in the middle of an upgrade to the model and await newer parts or something. Have you just paid the deposit or the full amount

Thanks, hadn't thought about decat but correct you are. Found the original crossover with cat in the box of bits - man that thing weighs a lot. On top of Richard7's guides i have been going through all sorts of threads compiling a list of knowledge/experience from here. So much better than when i bought my original Commando in 1984 - Haynes manual was the only reference.

Welsh,
I think it depends when it was ordered. I ordered mine in February and it took 21 weeks to delivery/collection.

Yes, I agree 3 months would have been fine, six months certainly isn't and the bike has been fully paid for since the beginning of July. This "service" just isn't good enough. The factory says they are waiting for forks to be delivered , hmmn maybe . Of course If the bike is built by next weekend all my dissatisfaction will surely vanish, and I really hope that is the case.
