Yeah, they're all like that....dominator's tend to be worse.
Ahh, the Panther...that was a company pet. Had some nice bits on it too, the engine cases were billet, for example.
It was sold just before we went into administration, I got it ready to leave and took some photos. I rode that bike around the TT circuit, so was sad to her go.
She'd seen several rebuilds and updates over the years. I think the fly screen was damaged when someone from the NOC crashed her on road test.

Worth keeping an eye on front sprocket cover (upper) wear for those doing a bit of mileage. Noticed tiny flecks of ally on my swing arm after the last ride, which I’d experienced before so knew where it was coming from. Dress up - ride on.

Chain correctly adjusted. Maybe I need to lose a bit of weight, or set the suspension for a 90+kg bloke rather than The Stalker’s 75-80 kg! Or get a suspension specialist to do it for me - gonna get around to that eventually🙄! Also gave passing thought (again) to fitting the 17 tooth front sprocket; decided against it (again)! May fit a small sacrificial wear strip at some stage, if the problem persists.

Having a good look around whilst fitting single seat frame extensions - thanks Stu!👍 Anyone else fettling? Or riding even? Didn’t happen unless ya post a pic.

Chris Walker the stalker at thundersprint.
I was there also on a Norton. Chris Walker was a bit faster then me.

Wanted a Black One - but couldn't say no to an unbelievable deal on this 961. How much per month, you wouldn't believe it!
Hello Wildrover , Does that deal carry a low amount of annual mileage you can ride it ? I thought I read that somewhere .

Mine is 4000 a year ..you can pick the milage you think you will do and the repayments differ accordingly. But if your going to keep it at the end that's not a problem. Only if you hand it back .

Excuse for an early mid week ride this morning - finally decided to chase down my irritating idle issue. When hot she often stalls at the halt, unless held on the throttle. Been riding around it for years:rolleyes:!

Fitted a new MM TPS - easiest option first. Made absolutely no difference. She started, settled into initial idle and ran beautifully; just wouldn’t idle when up to full operating temp.

Next couple of days gonna swap out the IAM for a MM item and try again. Finally, gonna pull my thumb outa my clacker and pull the throttle bodies - and block off that offending channel.

Would be great to solve this - should’ve done it ages ago!

Yes it does, the deal is normally £69 pm for 2 years (interest free). 2000 mile per annum. I haven't ridden in 20 years, so it suits me and that's my monthly £20, as it had 140 miles on it. Ordered a Hornet too (this one will be paid for). Just ordered an Optima trickle charger.

I see you have a Grenadier as well, wildrover! There must be something about appreciating Grenadiers and Norton Commandos! I also know another chap here in Aberdeenshire that owns a Grenadier and has ordered a silver 961SP. So that's at least 3 of us now in the UK. All the best with the new bike!

Yep, bought an early Grenadier, very pleased with it. Interesting that you should know that other Grenadier owners are buying 961's.

Just happened to drop by “ The Bike Shed “ in Old Street,East London today & guess who I bumped into ? , Cliffa on the left, GLB in de middle & Moir on the right ,so we demolished more than one or two beers then nipped to Brick Lane for a curry , no riding today , but as we all got 961,s there was plenty to moan about, oops well I mean discuss in the usual light hearted banter .

We declined a tattoo & barber shave , just went on the sauce, first meet of the year, next one is Andover & the “ wharf inn “ the following day in May this year

Sweet !

That Cease & desist letter has clearly got lost in post, been completely ignored or perhaps there’s been an outbreak of common sense at motorcycle juggernaut TVS, this waterfront cafe on a Lanzarote seafront has been proudly illustrating & promoting our 961 commando uninterrupted for at least the last 3 Januarys I been here .

As many have done, I went for the new 961 Commando SP:

Being old school, I bought outright at a reasonable £13,465/$16,691 (on the road inc. all taxes and delivery to my home).
The Michael Mouse mirrors have already gone:

I have some LED indicators to replace the lollipops when I can find the relay, and buy some Molex connectors.
I'll also replace the reservoirs with Rizoma Notch items.
I've also replaced some other bit and pieces, but you'll need to be eagle-eyed to spot them.
I'm looking forward to some better weather, as it's got filthy already, but cleaned in short order.

Lookin’ good.

What did you use as pillion pegs mount bungs?

I’m really hoping Stu at Motorvated makes some solo rear exhaust mount frames, otherwise I’m gonna be sorely tempted to get the angle grinder out …
