In the latest issue of Cycle World magazine (March 2014) columnist Peter Egan receives a free Norton, check it out it's a good read.

Yep and he's doing it on his own with several builders and big long time vendors we never hear of here. Was half a HiRyder choppered state but now about ready to assemble. Someone might show him this forum to lurk on or grace with his attention. He'd likely go ape-shit on the various upgrades that's common knowledge here. Magazines have at least 3 mo lead time to publish articles so maybe to late for him now. Maybe he'll mention some issue in next article we could fill him in on.

I really enjoy his journalism. He lives less than two hours away from me,
I wish I could contact him and talk commando's and airplanes for a while.

Does Peter still partake of the Annual Slimy Crud Ride? Good place to catch him if he does.

I suppose everyone is aware of the books he has written? I have all of them. Some of them are about motorcycles, some about cars. Excellent reading material, especially in winter!

A while back somewhere he listed a bunch of bikes he owned; coincidentally it was like reading a list of the "keepers" in my garage. Triumph TR6C topped the list.

If you are able to find that list, I would like to see it...

Hey GrandPaul I've got a "Free Norton" as well. So far the free Norton has taken 1 1/2 years to rebuild and $8100 so far......but I'm almost done!

I love Peter's writing. He once said that before you ride a Norton, you need to bring a cell phone, a sandwich and a good book. The words Free and Norton do not go together.
