Pulled her out & tickled her well, took off on first kick, usual lengthy warm up, ............. and off we go on near 50 miles of fine Commando warm sunny day riding. Life is great until it's not I guess.... Those new SS upper damper bolts w/ proper goodies to hold down the seat really helped out. Hah!
Time for a nice exhaust system to reward the venerable lady for being so good to me..... Maybe some nicer mudguards also... Only the Shadow knows. I just get carried away when things continue to go right with my Norton and my blood pressure falls.

Great Torontonian... I would like to do such but can't sit her for that long these days... 40-50 miles really pushes my carcass to the limit.

Don't be envious maylar because it took me time, money(not that it shows), lots of patience, and a plethora of blind luck. Also prayers to ancient gods were involved more than once, as well as the current One in charge. The sad part is the finicky machine is quite capable of taking it all away any moment.

My Norton is ready to rock & roll. Her rider, however, needs lots of fettling.

The Norton is always interesting toride at any speed anydistance. its up to you to decide how far you want toride. There are norules about this -except possibly give the engine a fairchance to warm up which means over10 miles-but really its about what you can manage and enjoy. In youth I once did nearly 1000 miles in 24 hrs, these days happily settle for 50. i am still here, the bike is still here and that is what counts.
