I see you put your mirror on the other side than I did. Wonder why? I have a bit of trouble seeing past my belly, but that's getting better.

G,day Coxter, congrats on a very nice build mate! It looks great especially with the Queensland scenery in the back ground!

Oh dear, we don't want to hear about wives or girl friends complaining about the cost of things......

I was out shopping with a previous lady friend once, and when we got to the Beer section, she said,
" put it back we can't afford a carton of beer this week " so I put it back.
Later when we got to the Makeup department, she was picking out some lipstick and some eye liner
so I said " put it back we can't afford makeup this week".
"Oh darling don't you want me to look nice for you"
I said...... " Of course I do sweetheart, but the beer only cost half the price of all that, and it does the same job" !!

Oh thats nice, LOL LOL. Hey how bout a congrats for the Aussie Casey Stoner in the Moto GP race at Laguna Seca???? That guy really knows how to get around the track I tell ya. But your deal with the girlfriend is good too.

Yes sir ree, He is very neat. I will be cheering loud down at Phillip Island.
Lets get him on a Commando.

Hey Josh

I went for an early run this morning and trotted over to Yungaburra as you well know the classic bikers meet up most every Sunday ~

(Some of the Townville classic club members were present today.)

There was one Commando there with Dunstall muffs (quiets unfortunately) and a LR Tank

The Trident positively HOWLED ~ started and performed fantastically ~

The chuckle was that I "brought one home " with me as one of the blokes lives down the road from us (one a many!) ~ " He followed me home , Darlin' " :D

In fact some of the blokes I had not met before and they have decided that since I also live on Glynn Allen Rd, and so many live on the same road, we should establish 'our' own 'Glynn Allen bike Chapter' !! :-k  :D

Hi Stuart,

You should have rang, I was 50/50 on going today, decided to hold my motorcycle ride credits account in credit ( with the Minister of Warfare ).

I'm guessing the Commando was Alans, its an ex police bike, a 1970 model, Alans a great bloke, for an old guy :D .

Josh

Well odds on now that I will be more frequent as "Steve" that joined up with me and lives down the road will be enticing me to join him and the boys as his having to ride past my place anyway ~

Steve's is the immaculate Bonnie ( 1970) ~

But I only decided late around 0845 after debating the issue with SWMBO ~

The Trident really lapped it up ~ :D

It created a LOT of Interest ~

Will Catch you soon eh !!

Stuart,

I will be there tomorrow, unless I break down :D .

Fixed the oil leak, ended up taking the drive chain and sprockets off to get at the LH side of the cases, one of the holes the PO had drilled was leaking, sealed it up, also put in a new seal and more sealant on the three bolts.

Expecting 'Steve' (on his Bonnie) to drop to our place and join up for the ride over ~ If I have my way we will take a scenic route which will bring us back from the Atherton side ~

( I absolutely hate that stretch of road from the Eacham road house to the Eacham Lake western road from Malanda as short as it is ! Prefer windy uppy downy stuff any day ~ )

Just checked over the triple and all appears squared away ~

See you there ~ eh ! :)

Ironically , I had a bloke email me via TOL web site, from Torquay in Vic as it would seem I am the only bloke in Australia with adequate stocks of suitable Gates oil line , used on the Triples , in the entirety of Australia !!

But turns out he is a professional bike builder and (obviously) building a Triple. As a result he is now on our "Aust-Triplers" mail list~

But the kicker is he has also offered me a LH side cover for the Commando ~ so looking sweet ~ lol

"Alan" shared several of his restorations including a superb Commando ~

Josh

Here is your Commando along with Allan's Police LR ~

I was tempted to go to Innott Springs but when I parked I found I had an oil leak !! WTF!! So much for any further excursions before goign home ~

So I headed home and i got swallowed up in a pack of Hurlies Furgusons heading south after the Mareeba Bike show yesterday ~ I went home via Atherton road ~ so my reputation is now shot big time in Malanda ~

Also was tempted to follow you down the Gillies as well ~ We will get there eh @ /@

The oil leak was the clutch adjustment cover which I had off yesterday ~ proof that you cannot go on using the same gasket for ever, eh !

BTW.. I am plannign on posting that excellent video clip I took of you and Allan taking off.. came a trick !

Yeh, you cheap bastard,,,,,,,,a coffee wasn't it ? :D .

I'll look forward to the video, you can upload video onto photobucket.

Finished the oil pressure gauge, went with a black faced, 60 psi midwest unit ( the same that is fitted on many Harleys ).

Was using 20W50, trying 30-70, trying to get the idle oil pressure higher.

All other issues have been dealt with, the oil going across into the primary drive is fixed, have re routed the engine oil breather system:

The engine oil breather now just routes directly to the chain oiler, the oil tank still routes to the air filter, all seems to be working well.

Even the oily left exhaust guide has fixed itself up.

The idle on the bike was quite bad yesterday, the air hose between the manifolds had come off.

Chain oiler?

Been there, it don't like to run too well in that condition...
