Hello,

I am new at the forum and new on British motorcycles restoration. I just bought a Commando 850 MK3 Electric start that needs a good batch of hours to make it run.
I am 52 years old and after owning many bikes along the years I started four years ago to make my own cafe racer from a Ducati Sportclassic 2008, since the result was quite good I decided to restore myself a BMW R90/6 from 1975.
I become a classic bike passionate and now I look for a higher challenge.
I follow your forum since time ago and I find it fantastic, I hope to get a nice looking and fluid riding bike out of the Commando with a your help and advice.
I do not know how to post pictures of my restored bikes and of my actual Commando in not the best shape.

Welcome.

You need to be a VIP member to directly upload images from your computer.

Non-VIPs must use a photo-hosting website to add images to posts.

Ohh! Then I will have to wait and be good to became a VIP member for I am not very good with computers and social networks and I do not have neither know how to use "photo-hosting website".

Welcome .
I have a couple of MK111 models so will try to help with your restoration along the way . It's a long journey and I'm constantly making changes to them . Safety is the biggest concern , a new layshaft bearing , new tires , new brakes . Start with a new battery too .
I've been to Spain 3 x .

Don’t feel alone on your computer skills!Getting a VIP membership is a great investment

If you’re new to Nortons then this forum is utterly invaluable with regards to the knowledge and experience that you can access at your fingertips.

Furthermore, being able to post pictures easily when you get stuck, or want some clarification, or when you want to show off your progress, will be of a massive value to you.

And the small cost of being a VIP, to contribute to the sites upkeep, is not even a drop in the ocean.

Thank you all of you for your welcome and for your invitation to become a VIP member.

I must say I am surprised of the forum payment system, I am an active member of several international forums:
Ducati from US, Spain and Italy, BMW and KTM from Spain, mountain bike forums also in Spain and UK and although several of them are very popular in none of them I have never being requested to pay in order to be able to upload pictures.

If this is really mandatory on this forum ok I will pay to become a VIP member instead of getting such honor through my active posts and answers for other fellow members as I do on every other forum.

Yes, to upload directly you must be a paying (VIP) member.
The previously mentioned alternative is to use an image-hosting website, several of which have a free hosting option.

Would you expect a free subscription to your local newspaper just because you write a Letter To The Editor which gets published?
A web forum such as this requires expensive equipment, electricity and many hours of complex IT support. It is free unless one
wants to directly post pictures and avoid advertising pop ups. The access to information is worth lots and lots of money. If you
are not financially challenged, don't be cheap.

Here I go publishing my first pictures:
These are my two main projects up to now. Ducati Sportclassic "Desmodue" 2008 transformed by me into a cafe racer.

And this is my classic bike last project, a BMW R90/6 from 1975 transformed into a bobber style and lighten 24kgs over original weight.

Thank you for your reaction and your support, I will probably ask you and the other fellow experienced members many questions along quite a long time!
You have a long jump from Canada to Spain, I live close to Barcelona, if you ever come again I will be pleased to take you around.
