Has anyone seen an aftermarker center stand for a '73 Commando that will tuck in better and stay up on rough roads. I've had it bounce down in turns with sometimes majic consequences.

73 Commando centerstand

If your spacers and nuts and bolts are correct along with the return spring this should not be happening. Do you have a parts book for your bike?

Centerstand

Alank is right. If properly installed the center stand does a geat job. Mine has never fallen down! Check the spring. that would be critter that keeps it tucked.

If you don't have the parts book for the bike, let me know and I'll scan the page you need and email as a .pdf.

Centerstand Spring Installation

Okay. Where can I SEE the correct placement of the NEW centerstand spring I just purchased. It's been SOO long since I had the right part.

I'm wondering if anyone's ever seen plans to MAKE a centerstand; my '73 Commando doesn't have one and I'm thinking of fabricating one out of square tubing, I think I could save some weight that way, but of course I don't even have one to use as a pattern...
