but assuming it starts and runs well though all gears up to around 105mph with no audible issues and the cosmetics are quite good
anywhere from 7-10K maybe just based on a premium a buyer would pay for its rarity
other than being a stock 850 pretty much just the bodywork/seat is added to pretty it up

That's ok. Many threads go on for weeks without the first poster ever chiming back in...... or ever get the answer they were looking for, for that matter.travelerjerry said:Looks like we lost the person who started this topic? :?:

Hey cmessenk, what's that "bar bag" of yours? (And have we had this conversation already? Smacks of deja vu for some reason.)

Response choices are
1. You lie and tell the OP that his sorry looking, long neglected, needs everything except the clutch lever replaced bike is a gem that will bring over 100k at Bonhams. This is what he wants to hear, but like the thread, will send him on an adventure that will end badly.
2. No one responds. This tends to irritate new members as well.
3. Try to give an accurate idea of an actual selling price in the real world of the market place. This will also bring anger because it will be a much lower figure than the OP has in mind, particularly for a gem that he has been "sitting on" for 15 years. When one "sits on" something rather than "works on" something, the sitter feels it should somehow increase in value dramatically, whereas actually working on the bike will only increase the value a little, maybe by about half the value of the parts purchased
Now all of my Saturday sarcasm is used up, have to wait till Sunday for more
