Here are before and after pictures of my Atlas. This is the first time since 1974 that it's been on the road. A refugee from the 60's chopper era!

Nice!
Britcycle has a k&n filter that will snap right on there. Its a tight fit but it goes. Much better and cheaper than the 92 parts and hefty cost of the factory filter.

Thanks. I have both air filters (factory & K&N) but was adjusting the carbs when I took the picture. K&N is on it now.

I don't know man, I'm partial to green and I'm from that era too :) -- but, nice job drp, well done !

If you need lights on, buy a stock of headlight bulbs. At N-V, we reckoned headlamp bulbs lasted about 5000 miles, whether you turned them on or not. Engine vibration would shake the filaments off the terminal posts inside the bulbs.

When I worked for SkyWay Airlines, we found that if the taxi light bulbs were installed with the filament vertical,
we got a noticeable improvement in bulb life. Went from once a week to once every 2 or 3 months.

The Atlas runs very well. I put a early commando distributor on it with a Boyer, a higher output alternator, a TLS front brake, and replaced the Monoblocks with some concentrics I had. I like the Monoblocks but I like the concentrics better. I haven't done anything to the engine because it only had 12k on the clock and both the tach & speedo still work. It's time to ride it daily (back and forth to work, 50 miles per day) and shake it down.

Thanks for the comments

Rubber mount the headlamp shell and they last forever.

Well done with your work, you done a great job now take it out and ride it :)
