Another Commando Uncrated

Out of curiosity, how do you know what they are paid?
Its a set of complex calculations, but a good rule of thumb is that for every million views, the YouTuber will receive $7,000. When you look at the YouTuber's channel, the number of views will be shown for each video.

These guys are doing very well to get the number of views they do, many YouTubers are delighted when they get 10,000 views of a video.

It's a funny ol' world isn't it
If there wasn't a link on here I never would have watched them
I wish I could unwatch it because now I've helped their views FFS

Just watched the video, trying very hard not to be too critical, after all it was their bike.
I always assumed that anyone who bought a bike in a crate like that would be incredibly committed, as it turns out they really had absolutely no idea.
I must confess I was insanely jealous, a good looking commando is just a piece of art.
Not having experience with a Mark 3 ,I was surprised how well it cranked over, having heard so many horror stories about the starter’s poor performance.
I suspect that if those chaps kept riding the bike they would have numerous issues with it as old seals etc started to fail.
Anyway, good luck to them, perhaps they were just acting like galoots for the sake of the video.
Now I really want a Mark 3 too.
regards
Alan

And they've made a follow up with some Norton forum bashing included....

Things I noted....in first part, he is leaning hard against the bike on side stand. Later he kick starts (why? its got electric leg?) while on SS. He does admit he didn't know about the choke being fully on when they first tried riding it in previous video. Still have not got front brake working but that won't prevent them taking it out on the highway! No number plate on the bike while out on public roads. I guess he thinks his inserted bible verses are all the protection he needs.

Sadly this is a peek into society today. Trying to emulate the bikers of yesteryear, then talking smack about them.

Sounds like a convert to me.
Seems like a youg man who likes motorcycles, who had no idea what a Norton was.
After riding it some, has come to appreciate what they are all about.
To ride and have fun.... My bet is, he keeps it......

Bet you will see it at one of the auctions soon. I remember in the late 70s Brooks Cycles in San Jose was selling new ‘74 Commandos in the crate for $1995 as advertised in the local San Jose Mercury newspaper. Adjusting for inflation that’s around $15,000 today.

I never use the word hate 🤣
and I'm not a gambling man
Just hope if he does another video that its in tip top running condition...maybe he needs to join this forum 🤔

Hope not they seem to only care about making money doing uTube movies to make money off people watching them, they seem to have no idea on bikes, who would ride without working front brakes, but I am sure they be making more.

It’s true the guy doesn't seem very knowledgeable and it is certainly a shame he doesn’t actually get the bike sorted out properly. All it should have needed was a bit of an extra PDI.

I certainly get why he’s lashed out at y’all though… you’ve hardly been complimentary now have you !?

The main thing I don’t get is how he films himself riding an un registered machine with no front brake. Isn’t that illegal over there? The film would be evidence to get yourself prosecuted over here.

No such thing as a WOF or MOT in most states in the US. Best you might get is an emissions check for CO or a brake check in some states.

There’s no legal requirement to have an MOT on a bike over 40 years old here either.

But it’s still your legal responsibility to ensure it is safe and legal to use.

So you’d still be in legal trouble riding an unregistered bike with no front brake…

Interesting they show a pic of the BSA factory while talking about demise of Norton. And mentioning the idea of the Hillman I-M-P engined bike... hilarious and shows lack of research. ( always called the Imp here in the UK, as in little creature).
