Yes, the apparent crankshaft problem they were looking for with the scope was, "...a D on some component..." (the 'D' conrods) not the main bearings.
Didn't that turn out to be a "bearded one" myth? IE the D stamped con rods

Hard to watch the uncrating and starting. He wants to swap it to Leno. I hope so. The bike should be properly cared for and appreciated. I am surprised it was not sold on BAT for BIG dollars.
Cheers

According to Joe Siefert, it's a myth. Perhaps they are ok but somehow I don't think I'd want to risk it.

My Mk3 has the usual HDA rods as supplied to Triumph, BSA, Norton, etc. but then it doesn't have its original crankcases so maybe it had D rods! :)
I've always wondered who actually made the D rods if it wasn't HDA (High Duty Alloys).

I was trying to watch their video.... I've seen them before. They're great at talking..... I had to skip thru much of it, but hey, what the heck they get millions of viewers and they paid 17k. Those two things alone are good, and it started right away in spite of their lack of knowledge. Good for the brand and brit bikes in general IMHO. Cj

I was surprised it was so cheap for a boxed bike tbh

Was apparently sold for $24,000 some time ago...

"The black bike was bought by Sonny Angel, famous in a select company, and all the time it was in the crates of his motorcycle workshop in California. They managed to gain a decent $24.000 for this unit."

...it is taken it out of the crate and started so its value will have dropped from $17k and then want to sell it.

I didn't watch all of it because I got annoyed.

Did they check oil in the gearbox, primary, forks etc?

I don't mind that it came out of the box. They were made to ride but it would have been nice to see it done by someone more knowledgeable and sympathetic to the machine.

Plus a really good set of photos would have been useful to the rivet counters amongst us. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I could not watch all of it either.
By the end of the tenth minute I felt the need to kill something!

Biggest rookie indicator for me was when the big guy did a flip and catch of a rachet next to the "$5,000 fuel tank.

Ugh, couldn't watch. That's the same lugnut that did the same thing with the "Chinese bike bought on Amazon"
