Looks like a ship in the background Richard. I remember the "Needle" at Ramsgate.

Public Holiday and easing of restrictions here in Aus QLD. (StarWars day, May the 4th be with you), Mate and I cruised the Gold Coast Highway and stopped at Point Danger, Border NSW and QLD

On ya bluey

Richard. She looks svelte and quite relieved to be rid of all of that "excess baggage". Cheers, my friend. Getting some good mileage in myself.
Bluey...Café Racer looking quite bad ass yet elegant with the plush seat. Enjoy your social distancing, Mates.

A 'spirited', if a little uncomfortable, country lane run to the post office in the next village, 47 miles of pot hole ridden back lanes! I had forgotten just how noisy this ol'beast gets once thoroughly warmed up. A passer by across the road stopped to admire, asked me how old she was and seemed a little perplexed when I replied '2 years'! Picked up this months ClassicBike while I was there, depending on what I see in the classified section this could very well be my last post, It's been a blast :)

Do you mean you'll be trading it in on another different bike ? Do you think you might like a Yamaha XSR900 3 cyl ? They might try to take you to the woodshed on that trade now that the bottom has fallen with Norton . And why need it be the last post ? You can still tell us about the new bike and the Harley and the Indian .

Hey Ash, your ride is looking sweet and I'm lovin that seat! Where did you get that made/covered - Brisbane? Tempted to make a blatant copy of that and claim it was my idea!! It may look even better with the Norton logo on the seat cowl pad. Have we had this conversation before? I am going senile so that's entirely possible.

Pity that you are on the wrong coast! All of the really cool (read old) people live north of Brisbane. As soon as the Zombie Apocolypse is over we have to get it together. There is a few of us in the SE including Wayne, Paul and Skiddy. Five or six 961's together would be a pretty cool sight to see.

Sunshine Coast (beautiful one day...............!)

By noise, are your referring to the clattering and banging mechanical din ?
That was certainly one of the big downsides to ownership for me.

1980 Yellowbird with snowflake rims. Either 326 or 400 cubes. SInce you asked us to guess, I'll go with the 400. However, the Yellowbird edition had a spoiler, so it may just be a yellow firebird.

Spot on Curtis , Getting my my mate to confirm engine , it’s a 79 model , survivor, 54k on the clock , matching numbers , 3 lady owners

Yes engine clatter. It only ever bothered me when I rode open face as the full face lid usually masks it pretty well but it 'seemed' a lot more apparent on this ride... must check the primary oil level if I knew where to find the level plug :)

Ear plugs...!! I have an open face and a Bell retro, no cheek wind protection and at 4krpm in top on highway I'm sure suffering an industrial grade injury

I cant ride under 3k rpm without thinking somethings terminal. I heard a Ducati the other day and to be fair it was worse ticking over with a clattering noise.

Is it just cause things aren't under load ? free play in stuff ? or just the 1950's style ole push rody nature of the universe ?
