Today, Michigan stole third place numbers from California and I am scratching my head as to why. California is China's doorstep into to America and California numbers are nowhere near the numbers of N.Y. I have loved ones in both cities and I am sorry for our losses. I am not aware of the statement you refer to, federal medical supply is "ours" and cannot reply.

We witnessed the deaths of a deranged criminal in Ferguson and a habitual criminal in Baltimore lead unjust riots and discourse, ultimately leading to the killing of four innocent police officers in Dallas. I have no evidence of Obama stepping in, calling for calm and control.

Regarding CA vs NYC situations, CA pop density is lower but I believe they also acted swiftly when WA started showing the outbreak. They implemented a state wide shutdown to get pop to self isolate. Starting to show the benefits. NYC took longer to act, had a much more rapid uptick likely to higher density and public transit etc.

Haven't looked into the Jared statement and don't know the federal to state processes so can't comment at this point. I do understand a hospital ship pulled into NY and LA harbors this week to help alleviate hospitals, businesses have been re directed for manufacturing of ventilators and being sent to you. I'll bet more is happening and need more proof the president refuses to help. Is it true, the city has ventilators stock piled not in use? I believe the president loves this country and it's people. I do know the country was not ready for this even though it had been warned and trained for such an event but failed to heed warning. We were also forwarned emergency stockpiles were low for years now. Not saying much but so far our country is fairing better than most and I believe that is because we were so strong at the time it happened.

No nation wide strategy, self isolation requirement like most other major countries. Are you not aware the US now has over 25% of worldwide cases, 7k+ deaths and rising at rates faster than Italy, Spain , and Wuhan? That is shocking to me.

Saw an interesting pair of graphs depicting what happens when regions do not restrict population interactions at the same time, doing sequentially instead. The overall case numbers are many times higher and the total time to knock down the spread more than doubles. This is exactly what is happening across USA right now, with a patchwork of states reacting or not reacting.

We know how this will turn out and how to affect it, yet no national guidance. Shameful.

I just read that by adding two layers of blue shop towel sewn into to tight-fitting homemade masks, they would filter 95% of all airborne particles. Not a substitute for N95 masks, but still better than cotton-only, which filters 30% at best.
