What Did You Do With Your Commando Today?

Went on a 47 mi. ride today. First ride out since I installed the PCV breather valve and my handy dandy oil catch can. So far, no leaks. I also successfully repaired my speedometer cable by crimping a ferrule that had come free. It was accurate up until 72 mph and then the needle started to fluctuate some. That’s why I use an app on my phone for a speedometer. Did I mention that it was a beautiful day and a bitchin’ ride? Well it was. Ride on!

50 miles on the 74 this afternoon. Lovely mild weather. Clear air and good views. I do need to source some rubber cement to secure those gaiters though!

RGM sell stainless steel thin clamps for the fork gaiters, I have use zip ties and does the job good but I like the SS clamps better.

Agree, each to his own. I really like that single seat. Very 'old Brit bike' look to it. Not a fan of Corbins at all. I know I'm the odd one out there, as Corbins are very popular.

Cleaned and polished and inspected her this aft. with a cigar from the Nicaragua trip and a glass of Spanish vino in hand . Talked with neighbours . Prepped for a spring day ride up to Caledon to collect spring ramps and hopefully a few brook trouts . Running perfect , plugs pulled , light grey tips .

I have always wanted to be a fellow who responded to just about anything done on a Commando with
"It isn't stock!" just to be annoying. But then I realized I probably am not the only one who thinks like this so in
order to protect myself from myself I must note that the seat IS stock: a seat from an Interpol bike! It has been cut down a bit though.
Not a fan of Corbin seats and I never carry a passenger. Ludwig would approve of the weight savings. I do find it entirely comfortable. It does give the bike something of an older look. And no, it isn't a bobber! :-(

If it had been a brown seat that would open up a whole new kettle of fish 😂😂

Rode for 62 mi. today. Met the wife for dinner at the Hong Kong Chinese buffet and ate like a pig. Another good ride as they usually are. Ride on!

Had a minor problem with my front brake. It started to take a while to "pump up'. I checked it out again 2 days ago and found a wetness at the bottom of the hose. Once I pumped it up, I squeazed the handle and held the hose down below. I felt it started to bulge so order another one from British Spares. it arrived yesterday and fitted it last night. Worst part of the job was removing the 2 switch wires from the boot then removing the boot from the hose and refitting everything. All done, but weather too shitty to go for a test ride today.
