What Did You Do With Your Commando Today?

Unusually warm day in Michigan so my buddy Fritz (BSA Lightning) and I did a lunch run. Came across a very small non-descript shop that had 'custom welding' on the sign. We dropped in because Fritz needs some side stand weling done. The shop is Kerry McLean's. A guy that makes and experiments with monocycles. See attached link, check out the video. One of them had a small block v8 in it! It was a short visit but looking forward to going back to get the work done and chat with him.

 
Taxed it for a whole year! Online. Cost: £00 And they even checked the MOT it doesn't have.

removed fuel tank one throttle cable was binding causing fast idle when turning bars to left so..... synched carbs fixed bind lubed cables all good now having some cheap char-donny wine mixed with tart 100% pure no sugar added cherry juice good stuff stabilizes blood sugar and help with arthritis too

Guys, what is this Reed Valve Breather? I see it a lot on this forum. Where does one get one? Do they have one for the Combat, and also a '74 850? I have a cNw breather already for the Combat that I still need to install, but wonder if I should hold off for this jewel of a breather everyone keeps writing about, on both bikes.

The cNw breather is a reed valve breather. Highly regarded.

There are several kinds out there , some $ump mounted , I run the Mikes XS type , but have also fitted a cheapo plastic one in my poverty days. It's a one way breather , evacuating crank case air pressures on the way to the oil tank air re-circulation and closing this valve ( in between pulses ) to not let air re-enter the engine bottom end. Frees up horsepower and helps eliminate gasket and seal leakages / weepings of oil .

If that's the version that connects in the breather pipe, I think I have the same and ditto, from HNW. Do you have a photo of where yours sits, I'm not happy with the high location of mine, too close to my K&N air filter.
 
Put 60 miles on the Norton late in the day. Glorious sunshine west over the border but dark with a few sprinkles down in Kernow.
Mild though, 53F. Haven't ridden it in about two months. Nice to get out likely one of the last rides this season. It has been wet.
 
Rode it around a bit and then pulled in to the garage with moist eyes and a quivering lip ... time to lay it up for old man winter .
 
I rode mine yesterday and she communicated to me that the time is nigh to yank/clean carbs again... Was great with early ride sputters though.
 
baz yep get some corndensashun but humidity here in NC is high once i got some milky goop in the line but a good ride and hot engine got rid of it other end of hose goes to top of oil tank
