You made a great choice having Buchanans do your wheels.They have been in business for decades and know all the proper offsets,etc.Plus their products are first rate. You will have a big smile when you open up the package!

Get in touch with Concours as to the date,etc. I went last year and could not believe the beautiful roads they travel on !Plus they are a great bunch of guys.If you can pull it off I don’t think you will be disappointed.Put the date down on your calendar in BIG letters.PM me for my phone number and give me a call.

We all had a big time last year, and pretty sure we're adding a couple days of mid week riding this year...

I was there last year too, so we would have ridden together and sat around the fire pit boozing. It was a great event and sorry, my old gray matter has trouble putting faces to names nowadays. I’m the old, lanky Brit, had the big blue truck and slept in the box trailer. That’s my bike in the pic above that Concours snapped.

That’s a useful looking piece of kit. I only went for side bags as I often shuffle backwards on the seat for some leg extending and need more seat space.

Yeah, I don't plan on using it that much but it looks like it will do the job for a weekend trip carrying a few bit & pieces (and tools :D), though I have to say, the ratchet & strap system appears to be much more fiddly for frequent 'off & on' sessions. Would have been much happier with a 'clip' system, but there ya go.

Thanks for the post on the bag. I've been thinking I needed something to hit the road this year as I've declared myself "officially retired" to my accountant. AHAH!
Not being a slave to fashion, I could easily live for a month with that bag......

Should fit a 12 pack of beer quite nicely.
Is it waterproof?
I rode with Cortech's for a while but I changed to Givi hard cases to solve my wet rain rides.

Yea I could put on my Cortech's which had a outer wrap around when it starts to rain . Only semi waterproof for periods up until heavy rain. A pain when you know you are about to get drenched you have to get off your bike then put the covers on. Its All part of motorcycling.:rolleyes:o_O How many times my boots were filled with rain and I had to get off and wring out my socks. My Givi's are a set and forget. Your Interstate looks like its a long distant rider. Is the bag expandable?

Your Interstate looks a lot like mine. Up swept pipes with Pea shooters.;) I added a 1/4 cafe faring but pretty much the same layout. Enjoy

Fitted my new wheels today! They look really nice. Can’t wait to try them out when the weather warms up again.
Mike I had my local British bike guy lace them up with refurbished hubs and a set of 18” Bridgestones.

Yeah I back into it at the end of a ride and kick start it in the chock. Excellent chock.
WM3 up front and WM4 in the rear. Bridgestone battlax 18”100/90 up front and battlax 18” 120/90 in the rear.
I bought the kit from a member on this forum that picked up my interest when I was chatting with Dave Ellis in the UK about him going back to 19” in the rear. My kit came with the Excel rims , SS spokes, refurbished hubs with sealed bearings, SS front axle kit. I just bought the tires and had my local guy build them up. I’m pretty excited to take a spin when the weather brightens up over here in Michigan.

Like Thomas, I modified a set of givi hard case frames for my commando. They are completely waterproof, are locked on the bike and can be locked closed. They clip on and off the bike in a few seconds with the key... They also look a little more streamlined unlike the traditional hard cases for commandos...

I use a regular heavy leather horse saddle bag thrown over the bike saddle. Take it off and throw it over my shoulder if I want to carry it with me.
